RE: New to CPAP - trying to titrate - grubsztyl - 03-10-2024 https://imgur.com/a/LMoXnzQ Consider this screenshot... it's very interesting. First part of the night I used P10 with EPAP of 16, IPAP of 20 in an attempt to transition once again to pillows because while I like Evora FFM it does have its issues such as cheek silicone farting that wakes me up sometimes... This night with P10s was absolutely terrible. I taped my mouth. I fell asleep just fine and then I'm not sure what happened but I woke up barely able to breathe in and out. I felt like crap and had a bad headache. At first I thought that perhaps something in my nasal cavity had swollen causing severe limitation but after removing the pillows I could breathe just fine... I think the vents became clogged?! I switched back to Evora FFM and set the pressures back to EPAP of 19 and IPAP of 22 (I tried lower pressures like I promised but 19-22 continues to bring best results for me). The flow chart isn't perfect but I had wild dreams and that's a sign I sleep good because most of my events happen during REM stage. I will be testing soon F&P Brevida and F&P Evora Nasal masks... I hope they will handle my pressures better. I find it interesting that my aerophagia gets worse with nasal pillows than with FFM. I suppose it's because air can't escape through my mouth so I just swallow it. I found that sleeping without SCC reduces my aerophagia a lot but unfortunately it also causes more events... I will try to sleep with SCC on more of an incline. RE: New to CPAP - trying to titrate - grubsztyl - 12-18-2024 Decided to check in after a while. More or less my titration is ready. After trying countless masks, pressures and settings I manage to get AHI of 1-2 using EPAP of 16 and IPAP of 19 with F20. I need to bump the pressure to 18-22 when I’m sick but it’s harder to prevent leaks. F20 is by far the best masks for leak control in my case… and I need exceptional leak control to get consistent results. It’s not perfect because it does fart on my face sometimes and wakes me up but I’ve tried a dozen of masks and find myself go back to F20 every single time because it’s simply the best. My aerophagia got cured with following steps: - Use pressure high enough to clear most events - being undertitrated caused my belly to almost explode. Lowering pressure made my aerophagia worse.. quite counterintuitive - I use fixed pressure instead of auto, this helped a lot too - FFM. Nasal pillows simply couldn’t handle higher pressures F40 turned out to be a terrible mask for me. It leaks all over. I also couldn’t stop Evora FFM from leaking. I get decent sleep now. Thanks for all input and support. RE: New to CPAP - trying to titrate - Sleeprider - 12-18-2024 Glad you found what works. Your perspective on aerophagia is interesting and useful. I don't have that problem, but lots of members are looking for a solution and my focus has often been on reduced pressure. Fixed pressure seems to work for you, and I know this is a common individual choice. Thanks for checking back. Consider offering these tips as advise to members here. |
