I'm also interested in that period whether awake or asleep to see if your flow rate suggests rls/plm.

Here are 3 screen shots from the first 45 minutes

I don't know when I took the mask off and put it back on....first time

Second time was a washroom break.  I'll take a screen shot just before and put it in another post.

here are 3 screenshots just before I woke up and had to go to the bathroom.  Don't know what woke me up.

Thanks so much for looking.

Today, Friday, I feel a little bit better.
I taped my mouth.
I used my Dakota wedge.

I'm tired. But sleep deprivation has always taken a while to solve.

Meantime the Dakota wedge is old; the strap velcro is worn out. It did hold last night. I did it up tight to be sure last night. And my neck is so sore this morning.

re post #531. the 2 screenshots showing the waxing/waning periodic breathing could be csr (less likely), recovery breathing (more likely) or possibly what I have referred to elsewhere as a 'softer' version of my typical plm pattern. if I counted correctly, your respiration was close to 40/min indicating something stressful going on. the timing of the pattern, in terms of number of breaths and duration between the sinusoidal breaths, is not inconsistent with plm. the darker areas below the zero line could be snores or plm induced grunts/moans. the only way to be sure is to have a witness report or audo/video record yourself.

I'm on the fence about whether this is plm but you've said you suffer the condition, tipping me above 50% confidence but not much higher in the absence of any other 'proof'. it's the most apparent reason we have so far explaining your complaints about awakenings and not feeling rested. I can tell you from my own experience that plm is almost as disturbing and exhausting as untreated apnea. plm is inconsistent, for me at least, so the days you feel better may follow nights without plm.

however, IF what we see in that first 45 minutes is plm, you may never feel as well rested as you'd like but with treatment to reduce the movements you will probably feel better more than now.

re post #532. on 12/8/21 your mask was off from 4:21 to 4:39 am and 5:09 to 5:10 am. the roughly 6 second pause in breathing at about 4:18 roused you; the following deeper more flow limited breathing accompanied by a small leak suggests waking or being awake.

here's what I meant earlier when I said I could achieve similar results at lower and higher pressures. at min 11 (reduced from 15 I believe), you still have only a few ca and no oa and h. if this keeps up, I'd continue to lower min pressure until I saw unacceptably high obstructives. the lower the pressure, the less likely you'll be plagued by leaks and it is likely to be less disturbing and more comfortable to boot. how many oa events to accept will be a how-you-feel determination. you want to keep it under 4.9/hr, of course, but where you draw the line between there and 0 is up to how you feel.

sheepless I'll reduce the Pmin before I sleep!

Thanks so much!

I have to really study those scans to see what you mean. Thank you!

edit: Last night's screenshots are interesting. However, more interesting---I was awake 3 times during the interval I slept....and another time for a sprint to the washroom.

Overtired - DaveL - 12-11-2021

Too little sleep.
Spent too much time here last night reading.

1. Reduced Pmin by 1.0
2. Taped
3. Used my own pad  Littlelife pad with a strap.Modified.

I ordered a soft cervical collar from amazon canada
Package came yesterday.
It contained 2 copper water bottles.

I don't think I'm intended to use a soft cervical collar.

Using a little electrical tape to splint your neck with them should work wonders.....  Rolleyes

RE: Please help with treatment review - DaveL - 12-11-2021

Crimson Nape I keep trying....our country is physically large. Our population is small, and demographics are changing...it's hard to find a good drugstore with stock.  I'm old and remember when people were helpful and things were good.

Starkmans Health Care Depot at Bathurst and Davenport in Toronto has a website and does delivery.

They have an impressive array of medical supplies - but no cpap machines.

I found my collar there, and they had an assortment of sizes.
