I feel I've had basic care; I asked my sleep-doc-from-_ell "what has changed in OSA treatment." His answer was "nothing" except heated hoses and some new masks. I found new masks on my own. I bought a heated hose. Those changes improved sleep quality for me. Sleep-Doc-from-_ell has retired. Thank heaven. His reviews on rate your doc make for interesting reading! RE: Please help with treatment review - DaveL - 08-18-2019 mper6794, Here's Saturday night's results, showing the waveform as you requested. I used a very comfortable chinstrap to keep my mouth shut. Average tidal volume looks like 355 I don't know how to scribe that on to the graph onOSCAR.... RE: Please help with treatment review - mper6794 - 08-18-2019 Hi, DaveL Sorry delay...I understand and empathize with your drawbacks with the computer! However, it would be very important to go a little deeper on your full night chart above (FR, FL, Tidal volume.....), not so compressed, but on ten-minute and 2-min windows....you can get those, by just left-clicking your mouth and counting the time scale. See, please, my attachement example herein, which shows the scale I would need, as well the curves, and median line on the tidal volume waveform; this example illustrate a 4min-long arousal in account my own periodic limb movement. As you mentioned you have an untreated RLS/PLMD issue, I would like to have an idea how this is fragmenting your sleep. As Sleeprider mentioned above, you apneas are treated. However, looking at your compressed FR and Tidal Volume charts, I strongly suspect you are having a poor sleep quality, maybe less than 50% of asleep time/total time in bed, most likely associated with RLS/PLM's. Based on my own experience, I would tell you, if this is confirmed, there would be no way to be rested during the day; sleep quality should be at least some 80-90%, no matter time you think you are sleeping. Once we, and more experimented people here, confirm RLS/PLM's is your main issue these days, we would see the next steps. You know, there would be no way to treat RLS/PLM's with CPAP. Yet, I have been acquiring a good experience on how to use CPAP (actually the bilevel VAUTO in my case) to guide my current treatment, by counting number of arousals/wake-ups, duration of these events, the sleep quality, selecting best balance of medication/side effects, etc..... Elsewhere, me and others have been discussing RLS/PLM's, just you want to see more details. all the best RE: Please help with treatment review - DaveL - 08-19-2019 First an apology. I'm away from internet for a couple of days. Here's a first attempt to provide what you want. I'm really inteested in learning more and doing something about this. Dave RE: Please help with treatment review - DaveL - 08-22-2019 mper6794 is there somewhere that I can learn more? RE: Please help with treatment review - DaveL - 08-25-2019 I took off last week. I feel a lot better. Did some traveling to see my Brother; I see him about 4 times a year. He's schizophrenic. I feel better having seen him. I've taken to sleeping without a pillow the last 5 days. Lots of lines on my face when I wake. They take about 5 hours to go. Results from my machine were good; I feel better rested. (Just had a one hour sleep in a chair outside though...) RE: Please help with treatment review - DaveL - 09-06-2019 Last night I woke up for a pee break....went back to bed and couldn't sleep Screenshot shows central apneas while I was lying sort of 1/2 asleep. I'm using a Dakota wedge under my chin. cpap pillow; wedge shaped N20 mask, nasal ResMed S9E still. humidifier; heated hose reduced pressure on exhalation. Am I doing something I shouldn't be? Tired this morning when I woke up...tired all day. Napped about 5:30 in a chair. Didn't mean to... RE: Please help with treatment review - Sleeprider - 09-06-2019 Dave, it is pretty common to experience uneven breathing including apnea while you are in a sleep/wake transition; in fact we call it sleep-wake-junk. It is pretty meaningless in your therapy. The rest of the night looks great. I think including the Details on the left margin will be more helpful than the Notes. RE: Please help with treatment review - DaveL - 09-07-2019 Thanks I'll do that in future... Last night I taped my mouth closed. I didn't use my Dakota wedge. Used one piece of tape. Didn't work out very well! RE: Please help with treatment review - Sleeprider - 09-07-2019 Still looking good except for leaks. I'm pretty sure you will get ahead of this. |
