New CPAP user.

New Resmed Airsense, presumably new Dreamwear nasal mask

When I take the mask off after having used it for "a long while" I smell "burned dust" for a few seconds.

It's kind of like the "turn on a portable heater after it hasn't been used for a while" odor.

?

The burned dust smell? But only *after* you take the mask off?
