I will try that also next week. I'm out of town this weekend and I  will bring mt F30 with me.
Just to educate everyone, my pain is at my PHILTRUM by my nostrils. Do a google search for philtrum

I was using the F30, but kept having a problem with leaks where my nose meets my cheeks.  Just started with the F40, and after two nights I don't seem to be having as big a problem with leaks. around the nose.  The F40 silicone is more flexible, so while the two look similar, I thing the maliability of the F40 helps seal leaks.

I've been using the Evora FFM, and am now 2 nights into a trial of the F40.  The F40 is more comfortable due to the lack of hard polycarbonate frame parts, and I like not having the air blowing through the Evora's exhalation ports.  But, the Evora's nose piece seems to fit me better.  So, I'm still on the fence as I experiment with the F40.  I'd recommend giving it a try, but as with most mask recommendations, what works for me may not work for you.

I did something similar but for the quatro FX. I tried the next size smaller head gear and it worked. maybe some like that would work for the F40.

Any updates on the F40?

Specifically, has anyone tried the Full Face mask setting instead of the ResMed recommendation of using the Nasal Pillow setting?

My understanding is that the different mask settings affect how the machine calculates leak rate. That inturn will affect mask venting. Since the dead air space in a full face mask is far greater than F40 dead air space, I would be concerned woth CO2 venting if using a non specified settng for the mask.

I believe that the mask setting for the F30 is a full mask and the F40 is nasal pillows. I may be wrong but it does not make sense to me.

It's interesting that with the evora full they recommend full face setting even though it has a short tube like the F40.

I have been using the F40 for the last 5 nights on the recommended "Pillows" setting. I was previously using the N30i nasal mask with mouth tape and had great results. The F40 is more comfortable but the results (OSCAR) are not so good. Everything is up in a bad way compared to the N30i. I am having a lot more events. I particularly noticed that the data is showing Clear Airway events every night when I had none with the N30i. I have had some difficulty adjusting the F40 to get rid of leaks. My leak readings were well within the acceptable range last night but still higher than the N30i. Given all my leakage struggles, the 95% air pressure readings have been bumping up against my ceiling pressure of 12 with average pressure around 8.6. My average pressure was running in the mid 7's with the N30i. I am also running my climate control at 5 with tube temperature of 86° and I am still waking up with dry mouth. I am going to give it another week to see if I can get dialed in with this mask before I revert to the N30i.

I gave up on the F40. This morning I woke up with a blister on my chin where the mask hits. Some might say that I over tightened the mask to get rid of leaks  but I have been on cpap for 10 years and know better. I blame the problems that I have with the mask on being  more compact in size then the F30, therefore it does not comform to my face as good.

The good news is that the F30 has been good for me. I was hoping that the F40 would be an improvement but it was not.
Everyones face is different and it will probably work for many people.

Also I want to thank Supplier #1 who has a 30 day mask trial and reimbursed me.
