I do use a hose cover already and a hose hanger.

Yes that's right @SarcasticDave humidity was discussed there but that was before I increased my mind pressure to 8.6 as suggested here.

I am fearful of adding humidity incase I get rain out in the hose ...do you think the dry mouth now warrants me setting the  humidity to 1 or leaving humidity on auto? Which would you do?

Thanks

I suggest setting the hose temperature to a maximum of 30C and humidity 1. If you don't have rainouts, you can increase it step by step. I have rainouts with my hose at 28C and humidity 8, but I have no problem with it.

Previously I did try setting tube temp to 30 and humidity to 1 so got rain out

Another forum member suggested I switch off humidity altogether so I did but then realised around 27c I got dry mouth so am reducing tube temp but noticing even at 25c I get dry mouth.

So knowing the above do you still think using 30c and humidity 1 is a good idea? Like can I not just reduce tube temp until my dry mouth goes?

Just wondering...

Thanks for your help

Well, you are a complex case.
If the humidity is low you have dry mouth, if it is high you have rainout. You do not want either.

I can give you my example: I am combating nasal congestion. The higher the humidity, the lower the congestion. Hence, I decided to run my instrument under constant rainout conditions.

You should try not putting water in the chamber and turning the humidity off. Then, step-by-step, reduce the hose temperature until you reach your comfort level.

That exactly what I am doing

"You should try not putting water in the chamber and turning the humidity off. Then, step-by-step, reduce the hose temperature until you reach your comfort level."

However then you're telling me to add water to the chamber turning the humidity on.

So that's why I am reducing the tube temperature without turning the humidity on.

But now you're suggesting to use the humidifier and distilled water..

I'm confused now ?

I tried accommodating your needs, but you did not like either suggested solution.

Just trying to understand, am grateful for all your help and was confused about which way to go because I didn't realise you were being accomodating

So you reckon try humidity at 1 and tube temp high?

Yes, but you were saying that you have already tried it.

That was without kitchen roll in the mask.

I am scared if I try and I get rainout in the tube then I'm  I will not have any other choices?

May try again tonight , I have no choice due to the dry mouth

Update:

Ran the experiment last night, tube temp 26c and humidty 1

I slept through the entire night, clocked 7hrs 40mins and could have cried this morning. I checked the tube and there were no droplets inside of it, I noticed I had drooled a little but that was because I went over to the right hand side whilst sleeping. The kitchen roll inside the mask seems to have stopped the mask condensation issue also.

Currently we are in supposedly summer in the UK, my room night temp is 21c with humidity at 60% as the fall kicks in I suspect this will change, so will need to tweak it accordingly using the formula, if I am too dry up the humidity, if I get rain out drop both.

In the meantime I will wait until Monday morning before uploading new OSCAR screenshots showing my stats as there maybe some further tweaks required to fine tune it.

I cannot thank you guys enough. Nobody was able to help me until I found you guys, the sleep technicians at my clinic and I went back and forth for around 6mths via email and then they just gaslighted me. So I am massively grateful to you all.

Many thanks Thanks
