People with extremely severe cases would get a tracheotomy. The rest would just suffer through a miserable sleep-deprived life until they died early from a heart attack or stroke.

A former coworker died in his sleep recently at age 58. I don't know if he had untreated sleep apnea but he showed all the signs.

Sleepster thanks for your answer.

Quck look--first machine was a Respironics one, about 1985 or so.

Full face use--all night long! - DaveL - 09-26-2022

[attachment=44859]That's a miracle for me.

F&P Evora Full -- full face mask.

Here's last nights print out from OSCAR.

Don't know how to take it.  Best of times (using a ffm all night); worst of times (check the OSCAR screenshot.)

Trying to simplify.....

I'm using my ResMed N30i. It's easy to put on; it's easy to get back on when I return from the nightly visit to the little room....
I'm using my softer cervical collar. I've wound my "mouth-breathing" tape around it to make it fit; it was too high before.

AHI is higher; however, this routine suits me for now.

The F&P Evora Full full face mask sits waiting. Good news--I can wear it all night. I can't tolerate the leaks though. That was a $300 CDN experiment. I'll claim it as a health expense on income tax and get a little bit back. It's the first ffm I can wear all night. It solved my claustrophobia problems. I've read all the reviews and threads here trying to make it work...

DaveL,

I was hoping for good results for the F&P Evora Full Face mask.

KeepSmiling I was too. It’s the best made mask I’ve found.

Now I’ve learned there are two sizes of headgear. I bought mine on line. I didn’t know.

I’ve spent a lot on masks lately. Over $500 Canadian. I’m in shock

I thought about the Evora FFM because it had no pillows.

I have been using the Universal Hybrid by Innomed/Respcare for over 15 years. The last one I just order is by another maker. I know my face has changed, but there something different about it. I switched back to an older shell with new silicon parts. It comes with 3 cushion sizes and 3 pillow sizes. Some people like it others hate it. It has a high flow rate the may cause issues.

I never ordered a new mask online. My face is had to get a good fit on.

For my son the DME used different mask parts to make one mask. The last time one was ordered it was one mask type. Not a good fit.

My routine causes problems. I used a Knightsbridge cap over the mask headgear. That was to keep my jaw from dropping. I even used a cervical collar! That rig scared my dog!

RE: Please help with treatment review - KeepSmiling - 11-03-2022

That thing looks scary.

Forgot to add the mask I use has a built in chin mask. I can open my mouth a bit with it. I know I can talk a bit not well understood. The only thing I miss about pillow mask is being able to talk. Even if I sound like ...

RE: Please help with treatment review - DaveL - 11-03-2022

So....I'm using a ResMed N30i mask, and my cervical collar.

My AHI is up.

My leakage is....tolerable.

And if I have to get up in the night time I can take my mask off, leave the collar on, and I don't get bit by my dog. :-)
