RE: ResMed F40 Full Face Mask (* new *) - Big Guy - 07-12-2024 For me, it doesn't perform any better than my AirFit F30 does. Although it has a hose attached to it, I didn't find it to be a nuisance. I'm not really so sure what I was expecting. I started out using an AirFit F20, then went to an AirFit F30 and that was an improvement. I suppose that I just assumed that the F40 would be an improvement over the F30. I have an F40 coming to me later this summer. I'm not going to change the order. It'll be good to have it on hand as a spare, as I already have plenty of F20's and F30's. Both complete mask assemblies and spare parts. Between the F30 and the F40, I'll be fine. Well, the mask arrived last night and my expectations have been exceeded. It has the same width for the nose as the F30, but without the hard plastic it gives more so no pain. But the best part is the mouth opening - without the hard plastic it follows my mouth when it falls open. Yes, it is great. Now the bad, the edges of the mask feel a litt.e sharper where they touch around the nose. Same problem I have with all non-airtouch masks. Will try tape in that area. So far 9 out of 10. RE: ResMed F40 Full Face Mask (* new *) - Big Guy - 07-13-2024 Good to hear that you are pleased with it, for the most part. RE: ResMed F40 Full Face Mask (* new *) - QT Pie - 07-13-2024 I haven’t checked since I ordered my in late May, but Resmed website nor none of the online companies I checked sell a fit pack for the f40, and when I ordered I asked and was also informed that no fit pack exist for it. It’s now July, so does one exist now? What I found VERY ODD though when I received the mask, included in the package was a sizing chart the same as the one you could download online. I feel like the cushions like the chart from the manufacturer side can be produced for the cost of pennies, so why not offer a choice, fit pack or not. I don’t understand Resmed’s logic. RE: ResMed F40 Full Face Mask (* new *) - Big Guy - 07-13-2024 I've never heard of a "fit pack" for any ResMed mask. My F40 came with a nose sizing chart. I wanted a medium cushion. It fits fine. RE: ResMed F40 Full Face Mask (* new *) - QT Pie - 07-13-2024 The Sleeplay website offers a page that offer masks sold as fit packs. [DME Link Removed] Search Sleepay for "cpap mask fit packs". -----

Last two nights - 0.61 and 0.60 with the F40 Far more comfortable. RE: ResMed F40 Full Face Mask (* new *) - RayBee - 07-14-2024 Reporting in on my first night using the F40. Kaiser said I would get all sizes of all F40. components. I didn't. I received the Std/Medium kit, which was fine as those were my estimates as to what I should use. I got 7-1/2 hours logged with 0.4 AHI reported for my first night, last night. Comfort was exceptional over my F30i. The soft silicone "everything-cushion" I'm calling a winner. The wide upper straps on the frame were out of my field of view which was nice. The QuietAir vent ring lived up to its name. I had little to no leakage with the Headgear straps quite a bit looser than the F30i requires. I think this added to the comfort measurably. Also, I've noticed that ResMed's silicone in all of their cushions seem a bit tacky to the touch when new. I think this dramatically improves the sealing ability. This tackiness slowly diminishes over a few weeks. So I'll have to see if the Headgear will require a bit of tightening to compensate as this tackiness diminishes over time. I am a side sleeper. And this seems to be the most comfortable FF/hybrid mask I have tried to date. And, one of the least problematic out-of-the-gate. I'll be keeping notes as I log more time, and as this thing breaks in more. I plan to write up a detailed and comprehensive review in the near future after I get more time using the F40. So far, I really like it. RE: ResMed F40 Full Face Mask (* new *) - Big Guy - 07-14-2024 I'm going back to using my AirFit F30 mask. The F40 just didn't make all that much of a difference to me. Well, I must have a drawn in face - if the chin strap is tight enough to keep that area from leaking it makes the nose strap to tight and I have a bruised/raw area right below the nose. So I am doing mouth tape with a diamond about the size of a dime cut out in the center so I can drink and breath by choice but it keeps my mouth shut so I don't have a dry mouth. I had a good night. 0.33 |
