Good to know, thank you! My nostrils are on the larger size so I think medium it is!

I tried the medium P30i insert but it had lower flow than the small wide N30i insert. I will stay with the latter.

Hmmm interesting, thanks for letting me know! I find resmed sizing to be a bit odd generally. I'll see how I go with the medium as I've already ordered it but I didn't even realise they had a small wide, so that is good context.

I don't believe the P30i has a small wide size, but I found the small wide N30i fit better than the medium N30i. When I used the N30i template and it showed small wide was the best fit, and I had both medium and small wide so I exchanged the medium N30i inserts for the small wide. I like them better and I have very few leaks above 24.

The P30i only comes in SML, I believe. I think most people fit the medium. If you're having trouble with the medium there is always the large, but medium will probably work just fine.

A slightly off topic question, however I've noticed that if I inhale (or exhale) and hold, after a few seconds the machine starts chugging and pulsing pressure - I'm talking about multiple occurrences per second. I tried in multiple modes and the same result.

I had another machine available to try and I simply could not replicate the noise. Is my machine defective?

It's reacting to the lack of flow.

I thought so to, but I have another machine (hire machine, just haven't had the chance to send it back), but for the life couldn't replicate the noise. It just felt like the motor was chugging / struggling and the air was pulsing rapidly as a result.

ResMed AirSense 10 and 11 use a 4 Hz pulsing of the pressure to determine what type of apnea you are having -- obstructive or central. ASV does not do this since it eliminates central apneas. Apneas that it lables "unclassified" are obstructive apneas. When I had an AS10, I found the pulsing slightly annoying.

I tried using the F30i face mask last night.  I was really happy with the results until I looked at my Oscar charts and for the entire night it says it had a large leak - literally from the second I put it on.

I don't really understand as when I fitted it before going to sleep the only air venting was from the front exhalation ports and the top elbow connector - none from around the mask itself.

I checked to make sure it was on full face mode, and I also checked Resmed's recommended setting for that mask which was indeed full face mask.  I also tried mask fit but it kept saying check seal even though, yet again, the only air was coming out of the venting holes.

Has anyone heard of this happening before?

Thanks!
