RE: Introducing the ResMed AirFit F40 - Lgibson - 05-15-2024 Yes, I often myself snugging up both pillow-side straps toward morning. Stiill my favorite mask. The availability of a large nose cushion makes all the difference. RE: Introducing the ResMed AirFit F40 - alimo11 - 05-15-2024 This is great to see thanks, usually use nasal mask but have been wanting to get a full mask to use when congested. Scared of going full mask w the beard but this looks ok RE: Introducing the ResMed AirFit F40 - yankees123 - 05-16-2024 Just wanted to share my experiences with the F40. I alternate between the F40 and the dreamports. The F 40 is the only full face mask for me that I can wear all night with virtually zero leaks. It is so light weight and the cushion is so comfortable. I do have to put some Hypafix tape on my nasal septum region but otherwise I feel it is a great mask. The only thing I had to do different is to use humidity which I never use with the dreamports. I believe it is due to the fully silicone cushion. I’m happy to answer any questions related to the F40. RE: Introducing the ResMed AirFit F40 - hwnboy - 05-16-2024 Hey yankees123 I'm brand new to the forum, and CPAP. Today makes 1 week with my machine/mask. I am having a lot of pain at my nose and can barely make it past the 4 hours for compliance. It feels like my nose is being pushed back into my head. I don't have it on very tight, and fortunately, I'm not having many leaks. I've only used the F40 two nights now. I used the F30i the first 5 nights of therapy. I had a nose issue with that one as well, but tonight, the pain feels even worse. I got up a couple hours ago. I'm about to put the mask back on and grab a few more hours of sleep, hopefully. Any advice to help a newbie cope better with the F40 better? I'll add last night's Oscar in case that helps with any suggestions. Thank you! RE: Introducing the ResMed AirFit F40 - Valtor - 05-16-2024 You could try the AirTouch F20. That would remove the pain points from under the nose. RE: Introducing the ResMed AirFit F40 - hwnboy - 05-16-2024 Hey Valtor I was wondering if there was a full face mask that didn't come in contact with the nose. Does the AirTouch F20 meet that qualification? Thanks for the advice! RE: Introducing the ResMed AirFit F40 - Valtor - 05-16-2024 It touches the upper bridge of the nose. But it is memory foam. [attachment=64159] RE: Introducing the ResMed AirFit F40 - hwnboy - 05-16-2024 Cool! That might be what I need. My issue is lower, near the nostrils. I have a few more weeks left in my first 30 days. My DME is probably getting tired of me Thanks Valtor. RE: Introducing the ResMed AirFit F40 - fixed it - 05-16-2024 hwmboy After years of using Resmed AirTouch medium cushion, I decided to try the ResMed AirFit F40. I measured using their guide which showed I needed a medium cushion here also. However, the medium F40 cushion gave me the same sensation you describe, my nose being pushed back into mry head. Switching to the large F40 cushion fixed that. RE: Introducing the ResMed AirFit F40 - yankees123 - 05-16-2024 Try putting some tape over your nose where it hurts. That’s what I do and don’t be afraid to put several pieces of tape over your nose. That should definitely help. Good luck |
