Part deux: Correct mask settings for Respironics machines? - DanPrado - 03-05-2016 Apologies in advance for starting a new thread on this but now I have a bigger concern based on those replies: Is data accurate for Swift / P10 mask wearers that use PRS/Dreamstation machines? If the "X" setting on the Phillips machines are so significant, and there is no direct correlation to a non-Phillips mask, then are the rest of the AHI and other measurements on non-Phillips masks still correct? Main concern being the machine being able to detect and react appropriately. Or maybe this is just a simple over concerned newbie/OCD question, so maybe just enjoy the pressure, sleep well and move on? RE: Part deux: What is the setting for a P10 on a Dreamstation? - GPSMapNut - 03-05-2016 I came across this: For my P10, I set the resistance the same as for the similar size Philips nasal pillow mask. The PR published settings are: OptiLife Pillows – petite X3 Pillows – small X4 Pillows – medium X2 Pillows – large X1 Since I use P10 with Medium cushions, I used the setting of 2. Does it make a real difference? I simply don't know. All I know is that I get effective treatment with the settings I use. RE: Part deux: What is the setting for a P10 on a Dreamstation? - TonyJ - 03-05-2016 I have previously contacted PR with this particular question and their reply to me was that if you weren't using a PR mask that you should leave the setting off. That's exactly what many DME told me, but probably the reason is that PR doesn't want you to use another mask brand, or the PR Resistance Control setting may only work well with a PR mask.... I really don't know, only guessing. I've had it on 0 for a year now with my P10 mask, and have also tried it set to 2, and I can't honestly tell the difference. I don't feel any difference in air flow, and my AHI numbers don't seem to be affected one way or another. What they actually said was that their testing was done only with PR masks and as such they couldn't and wouldn't assign any code to a non PR mask which makes perfect sense to me.
