When to replace climate line hose - Inky1 - 07-15-2016 Hi everyone, so I just have a general question in regards to the climate line hose. When do you know when to replace it? What can you look for before you have to replace it? I mean like what will go on it so that you know that it will need to be replaced. Thanks for any help! Inky1 RE: When to replace climate line hose - PoolQ - 07-15-2016 Really good question with an elusive answer. There are use issues and worn out issues: keep it clean or swap it out, a lot of this depends on personal use and the environment it's in. If it stops heat and you can't stop rainout, then of course change it out. Many the connector gets worn or the internal neater wire gets damaged from moving it around (have not heard of this happening, but it "could"). If the connections start leaking from being disconnected a lot. It's really just a tube, so not much can go bad on it. And of course if a pet chews on it, well then you know. RE: When to replace climate line hose - PaytonA - 07-15-2016 I would use it until it develops a leak or quits heating. The connectors on my climateline got kinda loosey goosey and would disconnect easily. I used wire ties to cinch up the connectors a little and the hose is still working fine. I keep a spare on hand so that I can use it until it fails completely and I only use the climateline hose during the winter months. Best Regards, PaytonA RE: When to replace climate line hose - justMongo - 07-15-2016 It has a sensor at the distal end. If that sensor goes out, it may misbehave. Depending on the local climate, the climateline hose may not be necessary. RE: When to replace climate line hose - lab rat - 07-16-2016 It's an issue of trust. When you start thinking a hose has seen better days, time to buy a new one because your trust in it is gone. |
