Blower Hours - duffer54 - 10-10-2016

How many blower hrs should I expect from system 1 machine?

Do you mean how many should you expect on a new machine: or how many hours near end of life.
New machine -- only a couple (say less than 10.)

End of life: of the order of 14,000 hours.

Thanks, I currently have 13,553 and an appt. with my Dr. next week, I was going to ask for a new machine? Rob

I got over 18K hours out of a M-series and it was still useful. At some point your risk of continuing to use that machine without at least a backup gets higher. At least when you get a new one, you will have the old one to fall back on if needed. I think most machines die of abuse or accident than just wearing out.

Do you have a 50 series or 60 series machine? (i.e. 250, 450, 550 or 260, 460, 560P model number on the blower)

The repair guy says they are supposed to be designed around 14,000-15,000 hours (5 years/8hours nightly). He finds a lot of the Respironics and Resmed models last easily to 20,000 hours (6-7 years) but you should have the pressure checked at about 14,000 hours to make sure it is still accurate. So, yeah, at this point, you do want to look at getting a new machine and your current one can become your backup. Remember though, if you travel, you need to take your new machine with you until the compliance stuff is completed.

13553 hr is getting near the end of life . Would be a good idea to replace your machine or at the least find a good back up machine.
