ClimateLine Hose Cover - joelrk35 - 01-29-2017

I am now using an AirSense 10 Auto with ClimateLine hose. I have an old hose cover from an S8 Autoset II which I use as my backup cpap. I tried it on the ClimateLine hose and it fits but not as snug as on the old hose. Does anyone see a problem with using the cover? I am probably over thinking this but would appreciate and thoughts anyone has.

As long as it's comfortable to you, no problem. I think the hose itself is 15 mm with 22 mm ends. The hose cover was probably built for 22 mm as all of them are. I have been using hose covers on 15 and 22 mm and heated hoses for a long time...not to worry.

Thanks for your input.  Being "Anal" as my wife describes me, I tend to over think everything.

Hi joelrk35,
I have used hose covers on heated hoses for a long time and have had no problems with that; you shouldn't have any trouble.

Like sleeprider and trish, I use a 22mm hose cover on the climateline hose. No issues at all.

Why would someone use a cover on a heated hose?

I understand covering a non-heated hose in a cold environment to prevent condensation.

Do you cover a heated hose just to provide insulation and save energy?

I have climate line hose, too.  Never thought about putting a cover on it, maybe I should think about it?

I have the hose running in my bed and it was not very comfortable to sleep next to.  I used it more for comfort than the insulation factor.

I've always used the heated hose on both the S9 and A10, and in the opinion that covering the heated hose is not necessary
Also, the cover might interfere with the function of the temp sensor built into the mask end of the hose

I don't understand. Why would anyone use a hose cover on a heated hose? Getting condensation with the heated hose activated?

Oh. I see somebody already asked the relevant question.
