Is my oximeter's O2 sensor functioning as it should ? - djrem3000 - 06-02-2017 Hi, I'm totaly new to oximeters, have received mine a few days ago. And i have some doubts on my oximeter (CMS50i) O2 sensor is functioning correctly. Here are some reasons for my doubt: 1) According to the Perfusion Index Graph - PI values are constantly jumping from 2% to 10% even if the finger is in static position without any movements. So my Perfusion index Graph looks like this (please see the attachment) while i'm not moving my arm/finger, it is totally in static position. Is it ok ? Do you have the same "jumpings" ? 2) If i press the O2 sensor's rubber body on top and bottom at once (with 2 fingers of another arm as e.x.) while in monitoring/recording mode - the sensor will stop capturing. So if two pickers inside the sensor are pressed by force very closely to the finger - the sensor stops capturing. That is the reason that sometimes while sleeping i accidentially press the sensor with the finger inside and i get "dropouts" at my graphs. This is really a rare occasion, but it happens sometimes. Do you have the same issue or is it a sensor malfunctioning ? |
