What does it mean? - shawn p - 07-21-2017 So I'm mandated to use this CPAP. ResScan shows an AI 0.5, HI 0.4, AHI 0.9, Obstructive 0.2, central 0.1 These seem to be awfully small numbers to be chained to this machine. What is normal? RE: What does it mean? - ajack - 07-21-2017 what was your sleep study AHI number? That is the one that says whether you need to be 'chained' to a machine or not. RE: What does it mean? - shawn p - 07-21-2017 Never saw it RE: What does it mean? - ajack - 07-21-2017 ring up RE: What does it mean? - chill - 07-21-2017 Those are the numbers after treatment, not before. That is what the machine was not able to prevent. They look good. Your machine is doing its job. A positive attitude is 90% of the success with CPAP therapy. Mask fit is the other 90%. RE: What does it mean? - PaulaO2 - 07-21-2017 Those are treatment numbers. This is similar to treating any other condition such as high blood pressure or diabetes. Take the medication and the numbers drop. Same with CPAP. Use the machine and the numbers drop. And you got fantastic numbers. Congrats. But what matters is the numbers without the machine. Call your sleep doc or whoever prescribed it and ask for a copy of your sleep report. This is YOUR health. Control it. The chains are only what you put on it and not knowing what is going on is a chain you created. Find out your data. Let us know. We can help you break the chains and understand it all. Honest. RE: What does it mean? - trish6hundred - 07-21-2017 Hi shawn p, WELCOME! to the forum.! It sounds like you are off to a good start with your therapy, your numbers are really good.
