New Resmed N20 mask - Crownovercastle - 10-03-2017

Two questions:
1.  With the N20 does it matter which mask setting my Resmed S9 is on (pillows, full face, nasal or nasal ultra) ?

2. What's the difference between nasal and nasal ultra?

I've used nasal pillows for 4 years.  I just switched over to the N20.

Thanks much for the thoughts.

Hi Crownovercastle,
WELCOME! to the forum.!
I wondered what the difference was between those two types of nasal masks, too.
Hang in there for answers to your question, good luck with CPAP therapy.

The N signifies it is a nasal mask. I'd set it to nasal on the machine.

Oddly enough, the User Guide for my N10 mask said to set the mask type to Pillows. If you have the mask User Guide, I suggest looking for the setting in it.

Well you could knock me over with a feather, but I found the N20 user guide online and it says [emphasis added]:

Mask setting options For AirSense, AirCurve and S9: Select 'Pillows'

For other devices: Select 'SWIFT' (if available), otherwise select 'MIRAGE' as the mask option.

I've been using the wrong setting.
