resmed aifit p10--WOW! - hegel - 11-19-2017 I know this is old news, but new to me. I finally tried the p10 because I heard it was quiet. Ya think? Last night was my first night but it is far, far quieter tnan the Swift Fx I've been using. I love the Fx. But after last night, I expect to switch to the p10. No leaks. Simple headgear. QUIET! The kit included two gizmos to attach to the headgear that adjust the length of the straps. As of last night I don't need these, but maybe the straps stretch over time. Oh and my AHI was 0. Not a fair test, because I slept poorly and I need to have some extended rem to really gauge my ahi. Still. Feel free to give any pointers but so far my experience has been, I pulled the mask out of the box, put on the large nasal pillows, and that was that. Stupid simple. Love it! (after one night.) RE: resmed aifit p10--WOW! - Sleeprider - 11-20-2017 Resistance is futile, you will be assimilated. With regard to the headgear, you can extend the life by throwing it in the laundry for a wash and dry which seems to restore the shape and stretch. RE: resmed aifit p10--WOW! - OpalRose - 11-20-2017 There is a P10 cult here. Some have tried to quiet us, but it it can’t be done. I have tried other masks early in my treatment. Every now and then, I open the bottom drawer of my dresser and look at my “other” masks so they don’t feel neglected. They yell at me...pick me, pick me! In that drawer is the Pilairo Q nasal mask, the SleepWeaver Elan mask, the DreamWear Nasal mask, the the FitLife Total Face mask. The P10 wins every time. You just can’t beat quiet. RE: resmed aifit p10--WOW! - Walla Walla - 11-20-2017 The above advice about the headgear is good. Also make sure the mask vents air completely dry before using. Water can block the vents making it hard to breath. I use a spare toothbrush to clean the vents. Hang on to those clips that came with the headgear. You'll end up using them. Like above I've tried other masks but haven't found a better one. RE: resmed aifit p10--WOW! - OpalRose - 11-20-2017 When the straps stretch, all you need to do is wash with dawn soap and “hot” water. Lay flat and pat dry with paper towel to get rid of excess moisture. Don’t pull or stretch or wring. Hang to dry. This takes 2 minutes. After washing and rinsing headgear, I fling it around a few time and any water droplets that may be in the mesh exhaust will fly out. Hang to dry. I’ve never had problems with the mesh exhaust vents. RE: resmed aifit p10--WOW! - hegel - 11-20-2017 2nd night last night. Good deep rem sleep. 0 leaks this morning; 0.5 AHI. My Swift is bound for the storage drawer. The other thing I like is how light it is. Also, the pillows fit just a bit more 'aggressively', if that's the right word. than the Swift pillows--I think that I get a little better seal. But my nose isn't sore or anything. Thanks for the tip about washing the strap and vent. This is the only possible drawback that I can see-- in the future the straps stretch and stop holding well. This doesn't sound likely to happen. RE: resmed aifit p10--WOW! - zzzZorro - 11-20-2017 (11-20-2017, 08:49 AM)Walla Walla Wrote: The above advice about the headgear is good. RE: resmed aifit p10--WOW! - Walla Walla - 11-20-2017 I've use the P10 with pressures up to 25cm without any problems. I know bonjour has posted he has used them to 25cm also without problems. RE: resmed aifit p10--WOW! - Spy Car - 11-20-2017 It was strange for me with the P10s. I got a mask, it felt like Christmas opening the box (an Apple-like experience). So sleek, minimalist, and--dare I say?--cool. But with my APAP (ResMed AutoSence 10 Auto), my AHIs were much higher with the P10s. So I went with nasal masks (Wisp and N20s). Every once in awhile I'd break out the P10s, just to see if they'd work. Nope. Flash forward. Six weeks ago I got an ASV (ResMed AirCurve ASV). The pressures were higher, and the "exhaust" from the N20 was bothering me. So (once again) I broke out the P10s. This time they were perfect. Somehow the delivery of higher pressure was far more comfortable for me than the N20s. And, hugely important, the very gentle dispersion of air from the P10s eliminated the "body wash" of exhaust I had with the N20s. And AHIs were great with the P10s and ASV. Why the difference? I have no idea. I'm just glad to be able to use this brilliant mask. Loving it! Bill RE: resmed aifit p10--WOW! - Apnea Infant - 11-20-2017 My brother uses nasal pillows with max pressure with the Resmed S9. I graduated from a FFM to the P10, have been using it for 5 months and I LOVE it. |
