Missing BiPaP machine used by someone else per ResMed "MyAir" account - moemoenui - 01-07-2018 My BiPaP machine has been missing as of Friday afternoon, January 5, 2018. I logged into my ResMed "MyAir" account and saw that someone had tried to use it, briefly, Friday night. The last transmission was at 1243 am on January 6, 2018. There has been no transmission since. I am planning to contact ResMed on Monday morning and see if they can help locate my machine. Has anyone had any experience with this? AirCurve 10 VAuto. Thank you! RE: Missing BiPaP machine used by someone else per ResMed "MyAir" account - Walla Walla - 01-07-2018 I think the best they could do is narrow it down to a cell tower location. That wouldn't be much help in finding it though. About the only thing you can do is file a police report and plan on buying a new machine. RE: Missing BiPaP machine used by someone else per ResMed "MyAir" account - freetime - 01-07-2018 By missing do you mean stolen or lost? Either way, I'm sorry to hear that. Keep us posted if your MyAir shows activity. I wonder if ResMed/DME/DR could lock the machine on their end. RE: Missing BiPaP machine used by someone else per ResMed "MyAir" account - HalfAsleep - 01-07-2018 Great idea. Have the DME disable it. They must have some sort of switch, because they transfer machines between customers. Your insurance might come in handy here.... RE: Missing BiPaP machine used by someone else per ResMed "MyAir" account - Sleeprider - 01-07-2018 It's not exactly an iPhone where you can deactivate it. It seems your machine was taken, and plugged in at some point today. Your loss may be a covered theft under homeowner's insurance, or your medical insurance may cover you for the lost equipment. Either way, your old machine is most likely a write-off. Inform your health insurer and DME the machine is gone due to theft. They will inform you of your options. No health or titration study will be required, but replacement is handled differently among insurers. Tomorrow make the necessary calls to find out your next step. If you have no coverage, we can help you find the lowest priced new replacement machine. RE: Missing BiPaP machine used by someone else per ResMed "MyAir" account - CB91710 - 01-07-2018 Maybe the DME could set the min/max pressures to "4"... at least unless the person who has it knows how to access the clinical menu, it would be worthless. RE: Missing BiPaP machine used by someone else per ResMed "MyAir" account - Sleep2Snore - 01-07-2018 Good advice Sleeprider. I can't see how they can't make the machine useless to someone else though by setting it to very low pressure. That does not stop someone setting it up again, but they would have to know how. Maybe they might join and ask RE: Missing BiPaP machine used by someone else per ResMed "MyAir" account - Sleep2Snore - 01-07-2018 (01-07-2018, 07:05 PM)CB91710 Wrote: Maybe the DME could set the min/max pressures to "4"... at least unless the person who has it knows how to access the clinical menu, it would be worthless. Ah you bet me to it! RE: Missing BiPaP machine used by someone else per ResMed "MyAir" account - Mosquitobait - 01-07-2018 If you are on Medicare, then you need to file a police report. Include the serial number information. Contact your DME to find out what additional information you will need to file a claim with Medicare for replacement. We had a member here about 2 years ago who lost his machine, filed a police report and all and had a replacement in about 2 weeks. Vautos rarely show up on Craigslist, but there is always that possibility. If it's anything like my machine, if you ask the seller to include a photo of the run hours, the serial number is in the photo.
