Small water reservoir in Air Sense 10 - BigDaddy640 - 02-08-2018
I have this machine for a year and constantly run out of water after 7 hours. When I got the unit I purchased a heated air hose as use machine at cottage and camping. Works ok as regards limiting condensation under conditions there. At home continued to use the hose set at 26C but run out of water too soon. Inquired of Remed re: larger reservoir but not available. So the other night I went back to standard Bonn heated hose and “bingo” solved problem as had surplus water in morning. So will keep heated hose for cottage/camper.

I grew up in Brandon! I am struggling to understand how using a non-heated hose would affect humidifier water usage like this. Maybe your humidifier is defective and plugging a heated hose causes the heat applied to the water to increase. Maybe someone else will have a better idea.

I am confused as well. I read on another site to try the return to a non heated air hose. It works ! I have checked the water access in the machine and they are not plugged. I will contact my provider Medigas but don’t expect them to have a solution. I have had a CPAP for over 10 years and three brands:
Phillips, DeVillbis and now ResMed. Like ResMmrd as quietest but DeVillbis very good as well. Phillips was 1st machine and was repaired twice under warranty. The third time it quit due to motor fault Rana told me too bad and wanted $400 plus to repair. Went on line and found company named Second Wind from Tracy Minnesota. Great people from a small town who ship all over N.A. They supplied new DeVillibis for $565 Canadian delivered. I had water tank leak and headgear break over the first 5 year warranty period and both were replaced no charge abd shipped prepaid to return in Canada.

I suspect you had the climate control in auto. This heats the hose to 27C and adjusts the heat for your water tub to maintain a relative humidity of 85%. When you dis connect the heated hose the heat for the humidifier goes to manual. You probably have a lower constant temp on manual and that's why it uses less water.

Your correct that once I go back to non heated hose the temp does not show, only the humidity level which I have played with. I did drop the hose temp back to 25C but didn’t make any difference as regards reservoir levels. So I’ll stay with non heated for now.

The heated hose temp doesn't affect the water usage. Only the Humidity level does. Make sure when you connect the heated hose you change from auto to manual and than turn down the humidity level.

I have the humidity level maxed out and I haven't had the problem of running out of water on the rare occasions when it's been in operation for over seven hours.

High Pressure and leaks can also increase the amount of water used. You probably don't have that problem.

Done that several times. Having had CPAP over 10 years I am fully familiar with both my machines and set my own pressure to compensate for when I need more or less airflow depending on my needs eg: allergy season.
Sticking with reg hose in apt as works well.
