It finally happened - Emmet - 03-08-2018

It finally happened.
Lying half-awake, it suddenly occurred to me that I'd forgotten to put on my CPAP. Touching my face, I found that I was mistaken; I've become sufficiently inured to it, my P10 is sufficiently comfortable and my Resmed sufficiently quiet, that I hadn't noticed that it was even there.
7.56 hours with an AHI of 3.6; personal best.

Emmet that is great!! You should consider downloading Sleepyhead; it will help you get your AHI even lower

Emmet,
Yea!  That’s a great feeling.  Even now, after three years, I might wake up and reach for my mask in a panic because I can’t feel it, nor can I hear my machine.  But then I realize all is well.

You have arrived!   Smile

But...as stated above, download the #SleepyHead software and start looking at your numbers.  This is the only way to stay ahead of the game.

MyAir is ok for a quick look in the morning, but not if you should start to have problems.

Congrats Now just don't forget to take it off when you get up.

Ha... snowstorm here in Maine. Last night the power went out for a short period of time. I have a Dreamwear nasal mask. I've gotten so used to locking my mouth shut and breathing through my nose that when the machine stopped I couldn't breath! Boy did that wake me up suddenly. I had to think to open my mouth to get some air in. It startled me almost as if someone had put their hand over my mouth.

Very good. Next step is when you wake up in the morning and take it off, and you realize how easy it is to breath with your mask on so you think about putting the mask back on.

My Sleepyhead numbers are all over the place; generally, if I feel like rubbish (pain), my sleep is rubbish, ergo my numbers are rubbish.
Per y'alls kind suggestions, I decreased and turned off APR, and my CA's trended slightly down, while my OA's & AHI remained pretty much the same.

10 Day average
AHI: 5.92
OA's: .7
CA's: 3.32

I'm going to drop the pressure from 10cmH2O to 9.8 for a few days, and see what happens.
Thanks for all of the help & support.

Hi that sounds like me sometimes due to COPD, cold weather makes standard air pressure harder to pull in.

Cold

It sounds like you have a handle on your numbers. I might suggest that whenever you do make adjustments, give the adjustments plenty of time. I never base results on just a few nights of information.

I agree, Sometimes when I change something sometimes I get an AHI of 4.5. But, the next three nights might come in at 0.6. Unless I make a drastic change that I can see might have been unreasonable, I'll keep a setting up to three weeks or longer, as long as I get 'reasonable' results with it most of the time.
