Generally what o2 levels do doctors shoot for after adjustment are made to initial settings?
I'm currently at 94% wondering if there's any benefits to higher levels.  I do dip below below 90% for about 10 mins with lowest readings around 85.

Thanks

I am definitely no expert, but my doc wanted levels to be over 90 so I have 2 liters per minue from an oxygen concentrator.  It used to be 3.

97%-99% is normal for healthy people.

SpO2>90% is fine,

less than 90% and especially less than 88% there's a big drop off in PaO2. research "oxygen dissociation curve" to further explain why there's not much benefit to higher SpO2.

94% is fine. why are you dropping to 85% for over 10 minutes should be addressed.

Normal sleepers' blood O2 can go as low as 92 with 90 being acceptable. Awake O2 should be above 96.

Dips lower during sleep indicate events. For it to stay there for ten minutes is not good. Unless you mean 10 minutes total.

Check your data to see what was going on during the drop.

They shoot for the best that they can get. If they can't get you above 88%, then you get oxygen. For a long time, the best I got was 91%. Now my average is about 95%. I'm not sure this is an improvement. When I had the 91%, I easily slept for 7-8 straight hours. Now I sleep for about 6-7 broken hours. I am hoping getting a new mattress early this summer will improve things.

They are adding O2 to my therapy next week when the deliver the Concentrator.

He is starting me off at 6 Liter's/min

That's about as high a home system goes.

Mine doesn't even go that high. Are you sure that is correct?

I wrote this wiki on using an oxygen bleed with CPAP a while back, and it can help you calculate the oxygen percent in air based on your CPAP settings and oxygen feed rate. You might find it interesting: http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php?title=Oxygen_Bleed_with_CPAP

Thanks for the info on the wiki Sleeprider. I myself may be needing added oxy in the near future, and it's a good source of info.
