SD card forced a format after i copied to pc. Can I merge data? - Thelgow - 05-01-2018 I have a resmed 9 and I simply put the sdcard into my pc and did a copy. The data appears fine and opened in sleepyhead. When I put the sd card back in my machine however I was prompted to format it. I know Ive taken it out before and Dr did exports, etc. So not sure why that would have happened. So sleepyhead seems to show my info which is great, but im wondering if my machine had its history internally and copied back to the card and all is good, or it started a fresh log of me from when I reinserted the card. If so, is there a way to merge the data? RE: SD card forced a format after i copied to pc. Can I merge data? - jaswilliams - 05-01-2018 On the S9 it does not like anything else writing to the card Youe windows will have written a "System Volume" information we can try removing that by the following steps put the SD Card back in your PC (Leave it unlocked) Press the WindowsKey and R (You should get up a run program box) In the Run Program box type CMD and click run In the black window that opens type the drive letter of your SD card followed by a : mine is D Drive At the next line type rmdir "System Volume Information" /s Then confirm with a y next pull the SD card out and try it in the machine the S9 should now be happy with it I have copied a screen shot of me performing the activities to this message. Can I merge data? - Thelgow - 05-02-2018 Thanks. I have a background in IT so I get the idea. From what I can see the file structure doesnt look like separate entries per day/week, just a couple that I would guess build up on it. Does the machine store some of this data or is it all on the card? I put the files back on and start, then I'll have about a 1-2 week gap, no big deal, otherwise I could just leave that local copy as is and let the new session proceed. No difference I assume? RE: SD card forced a format after i copied to pc. Can I merge data? - jaswilliams - 05-02-2018 The card has three sets of data in STR.edf in the root of the SD Card Summary Data upto 365 days stored in machine and rewritten to SD card if card is formatted - Detailed Event Data Stored for 30 days Flow information stored for 7 Days Your Dr will only be interested in the summary information so no danger of loosing data. This link explains the structure further http://sleepyhead.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/S9_Data_Format |
