Sleepy Head not shoing graphs Nor can I get out - countrydoctor379 - 10-01-2018

I have used Sleepy head software for several years with a Respironics System One machine.  Very useful and the graphs for each area always very helpful --showing events OA and AHI etc in each graphing line in exact time frames so I could correlate different events with my experience during the night and with each other.
I stopped using my CPAP due to problems with mask leakage, for several months,  I just reopened it and discover that all the daily data graphs are merely colored horizontal bands with a minimum amount of information.  Another fact in this mix is that the last 3 days were on a different machine (Dream Station APAP instead of System One).  OK, maybe it doesn't recognize the data as given from new machine, but the colored bar effect has affected ALL my data for the past 5 years making it impossible to compare results between various masks.
The final problem has been there for nearly a year (not related to machine) is that I cannot close the Sleepyhead program without pulling plug on my computer.  I tried using F11 as suggested in earlier post to someone elses similar query< but to no avail.  Pulling plug on computer in middle of session is a real no no and thus makes me not willing to use the sleepyhead regardless of above.
I cannot minimize or use "File" to exit because there is no response,  Since it covers whole screen, I cannot use the computer for anything else until I pull the plug.

Thank You

Sometimes Sleepyhead is in Full Screen mode and that can be resolved with a simple F11. In your case, I would just uninstall and put a new version on the computer. We don't know what version of Sleepyhead you are using, or even what your operating system looks like. The data will not be lost, and in Windows, is in My Documents/Sleepyhead, under your profile name. Keep in mind there are two executable files in Sleepyhead. One is the regular version and the other is broken-GL for use with incompatible video cards. I suspect you need to use the Sleepyhead.BrokenGL.exe located in the Program Files x86/Sleepyhead directory.

SleepyHead's  resolution may be set larger than your screen.

Here is a batch file to remove the resolution declaration from your registry:

I am running a version I got from Source Forge several years ago on a Windows 10 machine.  As I said the charts were fine a few months back, though I was having to shut down the machine by powering down then too.  I had used it on this machine with no problem for a while then suddenly, I couldn't get out.  This latest problem of useless color bars just occurred when I tried to view data from new machine, but it also affected all date from the Phillips System One machine.

When I remove the old Sleepy Head do I just "Uninstall" form Apps list on left (there is place to do that) or do I have to do something else too?  Also when I went to new source for downloads at Jedimark, they only list a PC download for 2010 for XP machines--no updates listed--this looks like a problem from get go.
I found the Sleepy Head GL file with the regular file in my present version in the directory you indicated, but have no idea what to do with that information.  Should I just click on that version to see what happens now?
Thanks

Thank you for responding.
I downloaded the file you indicated but I do not know what to actually do with it to change the settings on Sleepy Head ONLY.
I am always very wary of messing with the registry files.
Thanks

SleepyHead stores the last known screen size of itself.  Sometimes it will be a larger resolution than your actual monitor.  Unzip the file I provided and it will be a batch file, ".bat"  Run this batch file.  Along with clearing out the screen size, It will store a backup of your registry it finds on your desktop. That way if you really wish to put it back, you can. Otherwise, you can delete it.

The current version of Sleepyhead is here http://www.apneaboard.com/sleepyhead
I suggest you avoid the Sound forge files.

Sleeprider, could you explain what you mean?
I'm having the same issues. Can't see the graphs and it looks like it is the screen resolution issue. F11 does not work.

thank you

Graphic rendering with Sleepyhead uses graphics hardware acceleration known as OPEN_GL https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenGL .  Many machines do not have a separate graphics card and don't have the GL rendering.  The Sleepyhead directory includes a separate executable file; Sleepyhead-brokenGL.exe that solves this problem. Just find he file in C:\Windows\Program Files x86\Sleeepyhead\Sleepyhead-brokenGL.exe, and create a shortcut to the brokenGL file.  It should render all the graphics on your computer, even if you use

This is so frustrating!

I have tried the brokenGL and I still get stuck in the full screen mode and cannot see the graphs.
I have installed the program on an sd card and it used to work fine.

from all the issues I am having with regards to my high AHI numbers, I have scheduled a meeting with a sleep specialist to discuss. I really would like to bring the data with me.

Again, I appreciate your help.
