CMS50F oximeter graphs - Is this what they look like when you get up? - picante - 12-27-2018

I'm learning to use the SpO2 Assistant. I set the desat level to 89%, because that's the cut-off my doctor is asking about. How much time am I spending at less than 89%. For last night it says 10 minutes, which is weird, because I feel better than the night when it said 5 minutes.

In the report, note that I set the drop level at 3%.  The two strip charts are the time slots during which I got up, took a leak, rinsed my sinuses, took some supplements. That's a lot of moving around. Is this what the graphs typically look like when you get up and move around?

If so, then this alleged 10 minutes at ˂ 89% includes some of my up-and-about time!

Anyone have experience with these graphs? FYI the oximeter is a Contec CMS50F.

Thanks.

Basically, the answer is yes. When you are up moving around the oximer can have a hard time reading your SpO2. This can also happen when your moving around in bed.
The software tries it's best to compensate for erroneous data by including a couple of 'Artifact' percentage points.
On the graphs posted there is 1.4% Artifact, or the software suspects that 1.4 % of the data is incorrect.
