Yellow Mucus From Mouth - susilosaja - 01-22-2019 Hi, I notice lately if I use cpap during sleep, I woke up with yellow mucus coming out from my mouth. This has been going on for months. If I fall asleep without the mask, I don't seem to have this problem. It seems that the longer I manage to wear the mask, the more mucus there is. Anyone know what this is? I've been using cpap for a couple years, and I don't have this problem in the beginning. RE: Yellow Mucus From Mouth - OpalRose - 01-22-2019 I don’t know, but anything yellow draining from mouth or nose sounds like a possible sinus infection to me. Get checked out by an ENT. The other thing to look at is how high do you have the humidity set. Sometimes too high is worse than too low. Also, be sure your equipment is clean, the water chamber, hose and mask should be washed regularly. RE: Yellow Mucus From Mouth - mesenteria - 01-22-2019 I agree, it is most likely a draining sinus...or two. It may be infected, it may only be discharge affected by seasonal/allergic factors. I would guess, and bet on, it being a moderate grade infection. Your physician will determine that very quickly, but you should get it checked. RE: Yellow Mucus From Mouth - susilosaja - 01-22-2019 Thanks guys. Going to my ENT tomorrow. I wash my equipment every week, though I didnt to it in the beginning. My humidity is 5. How do you determine the right amount? RE: Yellow Mucus From Mouth - mesenteria - 01-22-2019 For many of us, the right amount is what doesn't end up drowning us when we awaken because it has accumulated via condensation in our hoses or in the recesses of our cushions. That is to say, if you hose doesn't have visible droplets or accumulated condensate at its nadir, and/or you don't get 'rain-out' inside your face/nose cushion, you're probably okay. RE: Yellow Mucus From Mouth - susilosaja - 01-22-2019 Thanks mesenteria. I don't get rainout and I don't feel it's too drying, so I think I'm okay. |
