F12 Taking Wrong Screen Pic - Diggers4pg - 05-18-2019

Hi there - I'm trying to take screen shots of my data.  When I use F12, I get a screen shot - problem is that it is of the wrong screen.  Any idea on what I might be doing wrong?

Are you on the Daily Page when taking your screenshot?

RE: F12 Taking Wrong Screen Pic - Diggers4pg - 05-18-2019

Yes; the one with the charts.

The screen shot you posted suggests that the profile is not open, but it must have been open for you to see the daily charts.  Weird.

You are sure you are posting the screenshot just taken, and not one from an earlier time?  After you take the screenshot with F12, are you still looking at the Daily page or are you now looking at the page shown in the screen shot?

Does your Daily view show the calendar and/or the right sidebar?  If so, try turning off the right sidebar (F10) and the calendar (click on the upward pointing triangle to the left of the day in the calendar heading.  Does this problem still occur?

The debug log may contain clues.  I assume you can reproduce the problem.  Do Help/Show Debug Pane.  Right click on the debug messages, select all, copy, and paste into a text file which you can then attach to a reply to this message.

I've found that you can experience screenshot problems if you are using multiple monitors. If this is your case, make sure that OSCAR is on monitor 1.

hmm. I just tried takin a first time screenshot in OSCAR and nothing happened. No pop-up that it was saved as I see in sleepyhead. Their's a screenshot sub folder in my OSCAR tata folder but it's empty. Tried a Sleepyhead screenshot and it worked fine. Only one monitor.

If you are using Windows 10, look at past notifications by clicking on that little thing at the far right of the taskbar.  There should be a notification there of the name of the screenshot and where it was saved, or a message saying the saving the screenshot failed.

Or, on any platform,  turn on the debug pane (Help/Show Debug Pane) and there should be a message about the screenshot:

Code:
17491: Debug: Saving screenshot to "E:/OneDrive/Users/Guy/Documents/OSCAR_Data/Screenshots/screenshot-20190518-173833.png"

On which platform have you observed that, and how has that second monitor been configured?  I can log this as an issue.

I checked that before, after 3 tries and saw no notifications. Just tried again and it worked fine. Gotta love computers. Time and/or rebooting seems to cure many issues.

I wonder if the screen capture failed, or whether F12 failed to invoke the screen capture code, or whether gremlins are lurking somewhere?

Anyway, if it happens again, let me know what is in the debug log.  That should help localize the issue.
