OSCAR Import Problem [took 4 hours] [edit: bad SD card, see post #3] - Bubba45 - 06-22-2019 I just installed OSCAR on a new PC. Yesterday, I imported my CPAP data off my sdcard and it took about 4 hours with the message "Cataloguing EDF Files..." But it did finish and I could see all my data for the last two years. Ok, I figured it had to import a lot of data maybe it should take a long time the first time. Today, I imported again (1 day of new data) and it started doing the same thing again. I gave it about 10 minutes and it's still at 0%. Then I killed it. Is there a fix? I can't believe it takes so long to import data every time. Thanks. RE: OSCAR Import Problem - GuyScharf - 06-22-2019 That is far longer than seems reasonable--maybe just a few minutes with two years worth of data. I suggest testing the SD card reader in your computer to see if it is functioning properly. One approach to testing the reader would be this: Put the SD card in, then just copy all the contents to a new folder some on your hard drive using Windows Explorer. How long does that copy take? Then try importing into OSCAR from the folder you copied it to. How long did that take? What I expect to see is that the copy operation takes a long time but not the import. Also, check your Windows Event log to see if there are messages about your card reader. What type of computer do you have, and is the SD card reader built in or is it an external device? RE: OSCAR Import Problem [took 4 hours] - Bubba45 - 06-23-2019 I tried a different sd card reader and it went fine. I guess the internal sd card reader is crap. At least now I know that the problem is not with the OSCAR software. Thanks! |
