Very dry throat when using CPAP - bzz08 - 07-22-2019 I have been waking in the middle of the night with my throat so dry that it feels like it's sticking together. I can barely manage to swallow. If I touch my palate, I can feel that it is dry. I wondered if I was sleeping with my mouth open again, even though I never had a dry throat because of that, so last week I taped my mouth and still had the problem. I've discovered that when I do not use the CPAP, I'm fine. I've even raised the humidity from 5 to 6. Any ideas why this is happening? RE: Very dry throat when using CPAP - Sleeprider - 07-23-2019 Your OSCAR data should show the leaks if they are present. I occasionally have the problem, but not so often I feel a need to do much about it. I sometimes pull a pillow between my shoulder and jaw to support my neck when sleeping on my side. That supports the jaw and prevents my mouth from opening similar to a soft cervical collar. Just a trick I use when I notice I've been opening my mouth. |
