Uploading User data - Tommysnoozer - 12-30-2019 Hi, New forum member here (31,m). I'd like to start by stating my gratitude that resources like Apneaboard and Sleepyhead/OSCAR exist. I discovered this forum (and through it, the existence of OSCAR) last week, and I'm very impressed by the level of considered and rational advice given out. It's great to finally feel that there is hope (and help) for my situation. After a lifetime of poor sleep I was eventually diagnosed with OSA 3 years ago. I was given a CPAP on the NHS, but have had little success in improving my sleep. I'd like to upload some data from OSCAR (I've already imported my data from the SD) to the forum but I have a question: My compliance has been a poor this past few weeks due to holiday, changing mask type (full face to nasal, and then back), sinus infection etc so should I wait until I have a solid week or two of current data before I ask for help? Thanks in advance, TS RE: Uploading User data - OpalRose - 12-30-2019 Welcome to Apnea Board! Yes, it’s ok to post a couple screenshots of the daily page. Follow the links below in my signature line for hints on how to organize the graph. Please include the following graphs: Events, Flow Rate, Pressure, leaks, Flow Limitation. Exclude the right sidebar. Also show the left sidebar, minus the calendar and pie chart. Use the attachment feature to post here. RE: Uploading User data - Tommysnoozer - 12-30-2019 Hi Opalrose, thanks for your reply. I've finally managed to screenshot my data from last night, and have taken zoomed in screenshots where there are different types of breathing events. I hope these are adequate. Further info: -I slept on my right side most of the night. -I breathed through my mouth going to sleep, but suspect I might have been breathing through my nose later in the night as my mouth wasn't dry in the morning (it usually is if I mouth-breathe, as I haven't been able to get the humidity/rainout balance right, despite heated tubing). -I've had a Septoplasty and Uvuloplasty 1 year 3 months ago, Turbinate reduction both sides 10 months ago I hope this information is enough, and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again, TS I'm struggling to attach the files, let me try my PC instead of my Mac. TS RE: Uploading User data - Tommysnoozer - 12-30-2019 I've had a really hard time (mainly user error on my part) getting the images down to size and still being clear enough to read. I think I've managed it but now the site has stopped responding. I'll keep trying. TS RE: Uploading User data - Geer1 - 12-30-2019 Assuming this is a typical night your results look decent, only a handful of events and some flow limitation that could maybe be improved on. Posting a shot of the overview tab would help us know if these results are typical. Below are a few comments that might give minor improvement. Ramp start pressure at 4 and time of 45 mins is just postponing treatment and at 4 cm you don't get any advantages of EPR. This can most likely be improved upon. EPR of 3 might be a bit more comfortable and may also help with the flow limitation. To help with flow limitation you may also need to increase pressure to 10 cm (exhale pressure would then stay the same at 7 cm). What I would do is as follows. Temporarily turn ramp off. Turn the machine on, lay down and see how the breathing feels to you. Try adjusting EPR up and down (can be turned off or set from 1 to 3), give yourself a bit of time at each setting to see which one feels most comfortable to you. I am going to guess that either EPR of 2 or 3 will be preferred. If you don't need ramp(it is a comfort setting to help you fall asleep) I would leave it turned off but you may find ramp helps in which case I would turn ramp back on and change the time to auto, in auto it will increase to your set pressure once it believes you have fallen asleep. I would also increase the start pressure to 4 + EPR (so start pressure of 6 with EPR of 2 or 7 with EPR of 3), this will give you the full benefits of EPR during ramp which will probably make ramp more comfortable and help you fall asleep faster. Try the new EPR/ramp settings and see if that makes a difference. RE: Uploading User data - Tommysnoozer - 12-30-2019 Hi Geer1, thanks for your reply. My compliance has been a bit off this past month or so but I'll try and get that overview posted. I'm having trouble uploading images currently (http error 500 or something) , so I'll try again tomorrow morning. I'll try what you suggested, and hopefully will be able to post the results tomorrow too. Thanks again, TS RE: Uploading User data - Tommysnoozer - 12-31-2019 Hi, here's my overview and some zooms from last night. As you can see didn't have the best sleep. I woke up and had rolled onto my back. My mask and elbow connector to the hose (face end) wasn't quite dry after washing and was a bit noisy (slight hissing sound) - does this have any bearing on results? Despite the high AHI I don't think I struggled breathing with the higher pressure settings. My ramp time was set to Auto. Also, is there a guide to posting screenshots from the Overview tab? Obviously there's a lot of info and graphs on that page. Unfortunately the low screen resolution of my laptop makes if difficult to fit the charts in! Thanks TS Here's the 3rd screen. Cheers. TS RE: Uploading User data - jaswilliams - 12-31-2019 Is the number of CA’s typical the previous graph you posted did not have any this graph has a few. If they persist or are a regular feature of your treatment reducing epr to 2 may help reduce the number of CA’s how long have you been using a machine ? RE: Uploading User data - Tommysnoozer - 12-31-2019 Hi Jaswilliams, thanks for your reply. I've been using CPAP (this machine only) since Apr 2017. Due to poor support from the Sleep Clinic/Doctor I've struggled to establish a consistent sleep routine (sleep position, mask type etc) so the number and type of events varies. I'm trying to include a summary screenshot from OSCAR, but I keep getting an error page when I try to attach images (Http Error 500 - my images are all under 700kb and correct format) but I'll keep trying. I raised the Start Pressure (4 to 7), Max Pressure (9 to 10) and EPR (2 to 3) last night - could this change be responsible for the Clear Airway events? If there's anything more for me to add please ask. Thanks for your help, TS RE: Uploading User data - OpalRose - 12-31-2019 I would set EPR to 1. A higher EPR setting may cause more CA’s.
