Which ResMed machines support which modes - ApneaQuestions - 02-22-2020

I'm trying to put a spreadsheet together listing all the modes supported by various ResMed machines.

Once I have all the information together I'll post a screenshot of the final spreadsheet.

I don't have access to each and every clinician's manual so I need your help to fill in the missing details please.

If you have one of the missing machines or if you know the modes from the clinician's manual  .. can you please post a reply listing the modes that the machine supports.

RE: Which ResMed machines support which modes - DeepBreathing - 02-22-2020

G'day ApneaQuestions. This looks like an ambitious project. One thing to beware of is that machines go by different names in different markets. Example - what you call the Aircurve 10 S is the Lumis 100 in Australia and Europe. I once tried to put together a spreadsheet of all the various S9 model numbers and gave it up as a bad joke.

Anyhow, this is the information I could quickly find on the Astral machines. The product brochure is usually the best place to look, as it compares different models.

Astral product brochure https://www.resmed.com/au/dam/documents/products/machine/astral-series/product-brochure/astral_product-brochure_au_eng.pdf

Astral 100 https://www.resmed.com/au/en/healthcare-professional/products/devices/astral-100.html
Valve circuit therapy: CPAP, (A)CV, P(A)CV, P-SIMV, V-SIMV, PS
Leak circuit therapy: CPAP, (S)T, P(A)C, iVAPS3 and optional AutoEPAP4
Mouthpiece ventilation therapy: (A)CV, P(A)CV, PS/SVt

Astral 150 https://www.resmed.com/au/en/healthcare-professional/products/devices/astral-150.html
Valve circuit therapy: CPAP, (A)CV, P(A)CV, P-SIMV, V-SIMV, PS
Leak circuit therapy: CPAP, (S)T, P(A)C, iVAPS3 and optional AutoEPAP4
Mouthpiece ventilation therapy: (A)CV , P(A)CV, PS/SVt

No, I don't know what all those modes are, I'm just the messenger, Smile

RE: Which ResMed machines support which modes - ApneaQuestions - 02-22-2020

Thanks for the help.

I've updated the spreadsheet and have completed the S10 models and most of the S9 models.
I think I got them right by googling for marketing blurb.

The information on the ventilators was confusing so I only filled in details for the stellar 150.
I'll revisit them later since most people probably don't use them.

Names for Europe and Australia now in far right column.

I've marked the unknown machines on the right hand side of the spreadsheet in red if anyone can help with those.

EDIT: Added Europe/Australia names & added OSCAR data-support recommendations from the "machine choices" page

RE: Which ResMed machines support which modes - Sleeprider - 02-22-2020

I see your help needed indicators, so here we go:
S9 Escape Auto is an auto CPAP with no efficacy data. It has CPAP and Autoset mode but no data. Includes EPR and EasyBreathe. Technically, the auto CPAP mode is not called Autoset but Auto CPAP on this model https://www.resmed.com/us/en/healthcare-professional/products/devices/s9-escape-auto.html

Deepbreathing knows ore about the S9 VPAP Adapt than I do, but there is an older version that does not do AutoASV and one that does. You have to sort by model number, and it looks like you got this in the charts.

RE: Which ResMed machines support which modes - ApneaQuestions - 02-22-2020

Thanks Sleeprider - added your info

Just one s9 model to go.....  never heard of it until today!!    "S9 VPAP COPD"
https://www.resmed.com/us/en/healthcare-professional/products/devices/s9-vpap-copd.html

Also missing most  s7 models

EDIT: for the geeks in the audience (like me).... the "(S9) Lumis Tx" should have you drooling!! :-)

EDIT2:
I own a TxLink and a Lumis Tx so it might be possible to upgrae the firmware to pull in the AutoSet-For-Her mode.
I also own a S9-VPAP-Tx (Titration machine) and that one DID get AutoSet-For-Her when I upgraded the firmware via TxLink
