reset OSCAR password - Barbara.Levitan - 08-25-2020

I forgot my OSCAR password.  It says I should ask on the board how to reset it.  So I'm asking...

Go to your OSCAR Data folder ⇾ Profiles ⇾ Your Username ⇾ Profiles.xml. Open it with Wordpad.  Search (Find - Ctrl-F) for "password". In between the blocks, <passwordtype="QString"> and </password> will be your password.  There isn't a real need to have it password protected. If you want to delete the password just edit the line, listed above so it will read, <Password type="QString"></Password>.

PS: I moved your thread to the Software Support Forum.

but I can't get into my profile without my password!

Yes you can. Using your File browser, navigate to the location I described above.  This editing step is NOT done within OSCAR.
