Severe Aerophagia - mmsuelpn - 04-01-2013 I need help. I have been on cpap for almost a year now. I have been playing with my machine myself because the doctor I feel has no idea. I have terrible aerophagia. Some days worse then others. My levels are 19/15. I tried lowering them, but i wake up with a headache. I dont know if bilevel or biflex or cflex would be better. Would a cpap pillow be better? I just don't know. I sleep with my mouth closed all night. My doctor thinks I don't and tell me to wear a chin strap. The chin strap makes me feel suffocated. I know i sleep with my mouth closed. I use a nasal mask. HELP RE: Severe Aerophagia - Shastzi - 04-01-2013 Hi mmsuelpn. Hummmm.... The only other way to be sure about your mouth is if someone sees you doing it or you have all night video surveillance. CPAP pillows usually don't work either. Save your money. I'm sure you'll get a lot more good advise here so stay tuned! RE: Severe Aerophagia - trish6hundred - 04-01-2013 Hi mmsuelpn, WELCOME! to the forum.! Well, it may be time to find a different doctor, one who specializes in CPAP therapy. The traditional fixes for aerophagia are a bilevel machine (BiPAP) or lowering the pressure, or both. If you are changing the pressure yourself you need to be checking your data to see how you're responding. What do you mean when you say your levels are 19/15? Which Philips Respironics machine do you have? Is it a RemSTAR or a BiPAP? |
