ClimateLineAir Oxy Tubing vs. ClimateLineAir standard - Remember2Breathe - 02-05-2021

Looking forward to starting CPAP therapy tonight!  When I got my AirSense 10 AutoSet ForHer, the tubing looked different than I thought; but DME confirmed that it is ClimateLineAir.  I finally realized that the reason it looks different, is that it must be the Oxy Tubing version.
Think it is also longer and less wide in diameter.

Wondering if I should push to try to get the standard version of ClimateLineAir or just try the Oxy version first.  Nearing Friday afternoon, might be hard to reach DME before Monday, and anxious to get started tonight.

I remember someone posting that the Oxy Tubing might have put out more air for them and was thus uncomfortable.  But can't find that thread now.

How do you think the 2 versions compare?  The Oxy version seems to be more expensive.  Is it better in your opinion, or both the same, or...?

Is there a small port on the hose to allow for an O2 connection?

This is the ClimateLine Oxy tube. It is more expensive than the standard Climateline tube.  Other than the port that can be capped, it is the same size and length as the standard ClimateLine tube. The HCPCS (insurance code) for both is A4604. Unheated tubing is A7037.  I would call the supplier and ask for it to be replaced with the standard ClimateLine tube, and let them know you won't pay for the additional cost of the Oxy if it is invoiced. The standard Climateline tube is only about $25 on Amazon, and the Oxy is $48.  If you have a co-pay that might be worth considering.

Thanks for your input. Looked again and at your photo and online photos. My bad - it seems to just be standard version. It does not have the extra port. I swear it looked different when I saw it at another DME. According to the manual, the OXY version is 2" shorter and 4mm wider - as you say, negligible difference.

And DME said that he takes medicare assignment.

Allrighty then, time to shut up and just try it!!

Hi there Remember2Breathe

That is about right the Oxy is wider, shorter and heavier and has the O2 port.

A while ago I tested both and found no benefit in using the Max Oxy. It also "felt different" depending on the mask used. I found not reason to pursue the matter.

Hose, Internal Diameter, Length, Model,
ClimateLineAir, 15 mm, 2 m, 37296,
ClimateLineAir Oxy, 19 mm, 1.9 m, 37357,

Best wishes for entering the world of PAP!
