Battery Generator - AKel - 04-05-2021

I need help finding a battery generator for our cpap machines. My husband and I both have the ResMed Airsense 10 and we are new to apnea. We do a lot of primitive camping and would like to be able to take our cpap machines along with us. I have been trying to figure out what battery generator would be able to power both of our machines for at least 7 hours. I have tried researching this, however, my brain cannot comprehend Watts, Watt hours, Amps, Volts, AH and whatever else there is... Can someone please help?

Hi AKel!  -  Welcome

Here is Resmed's Battery Guide:  https://document.resmed.com/en-us/documents/articles/198103_battery-guide_glo_eng.pdf

You need to determine if you require the use of either a humidifier or a heated hose, or both, while camping.  Both of these really eat up power.  I hope you are aware that there is a 12/24VDC to 24VDC power supply for the Resmed.  Do not use an inverter with the normal AC power supply.  The energy loss can almost require 2x the battery size for the same run time.

Thank you so much! This info has been very helpful. So what you are saying is that we should turn off the heated hose and humidifier to save power? I was not aware of any DC converters. Should I use those instead of the AC power supply?

Perform a search using your favorite search engine for, Resmed AS10 DC to DC power supply ($89) or even KFD AS10 DC to DC power supply ($35). I am using the latter for over a year without any problems. Since we have had power outages during the night, I have my AC10 setup to run off a marine deep-cycle battery with a battery tender keeping it fully charged. Now, I sleep through a power outage unaware of it.

Also, you don't need to use the quote in your reply.  The post you're responding to is close enough to be followed.
