I took apart my Philips Dreamstation and replaced the foam chamber. Now it's loud! - allistairt - 02-04-2022 I also found this O-ring laying on the bottom of the cpap machine. Where does it go and could this have something to do with the louder noise? Others have claimed that after they removed the foam it wasn't any louder. Pic is the ring I found https://imgur.com/a/dNDnxZI RE: I took apart my Philips Dreamstation and replaced the foam chamber. Now it's loud! - fredHa - 02-04-2022 where your o-ring goes (see picture attachment) - that o ring seals your pressure and it will be loud without it. my machine is hardly noticeable louder at all (7 months of experience) RE: I took apart my Philips Dreamstation and replaced the foam chamber. RE: I took apart my Philips Dreamstation and replaced the foam chamber. Now it's loud! - fredHa - 02-04-2022 you have to go at least this far: (from my notes when i cut the foam out of mine in july) 3. Remove POWER CORD and HUMIDIFIER if equipped 4. Remove Cover FLIP DOORS 5. Remove MODEM, External Filter Assembly, AND SIM CARD 6. Remove 2 screws from the UPPER ENCLOSURE in the external door wells 7. Separate UPPER ENCLOSURE from BACK PANEL by releasing left and right clips through the BACK PANEL and free the BACK PANEL but still clipped to the 8 pin and connector 8. Separate UPPER ENCLOSURE from the FRONT PANEL 9. Remove 2 hold down screws for the PCA board 10. Separate 8 pin and 3 pin connector from the PCA board (DO NOT pull on wires) 11. Set aside the BACK PANEL which has the (DC) power supply origin of the 8 pin connector you will likely need to at least loosen the screws holding down the BLOWER BOX ASSEMBLY to get some freedom of movement to get the motor outlet nozzle to engage the BACK PANEL outlet and the missing o- ring - then close the ds1 back up in reverse order RE: I took apart my Philips Dreamstation and replaced the foam chamber. Now it's loud! - allistairt - 02-04-2022 Okay I got the o ring on and out it back together. I guess I did something wrong as when I try to turn it back on the power button fades in and out and it's beeping at me.... RE: I took apart my Philips Dreamstation and replaced the foam chamber. Now it's loud! - allistairt - 02-04-2022 I figured it out!!! And it's so much quieter!!! THANK YOUUUU KIND SIR/MA'AM! RE: I took apart my Philips Dreamstation and replaced the foam chamber. Now it's loud! - allistairt - 02-04-2022 https://imgur.com/a/SutQY1k Okay it's all set up. This tube is OK to use humidifier with right? RE: I took apart my Philips Dreamstation and replaced the foam chamber. Now it's loud! - fredHa - 02-05-2022 assuming by "tube" you mean a standard oem philips tube that goes from the main device to the mask- sure they are made to use with the humidifier. these tubes come in at least 3 diameters and one type is heated. the diameters and type are selected by the "tube type" menu. notes on the "tube type" description- "This setting allows you to select the correct size diameter tubing that you are using with the device. You can choose either (22) for the Philips Respironics 22 mm tubing, (15) for the Philips Respironics 15 mm tubing, or (12) for the optional Philips Respironics 12 mm tubing. When using Heated Tubing, the device will automatically change this setting to the appropriate tubing type (15H) and you will not be able to change it. Note: Tubing is identified on the cuff with the tubing identifier symbol: “12”, “15”, or “15H”. 22 mm tubing contains no symbol" - philips.
