FlashAir W-02 - Dafod - 03-19-2022

Hi all,
sorry to drag up an old topic -But, I used to use my wireless SD card a while ago and was hoping to set it up again.

When I looked to do so (given that it was many years ago), I am wondering :

1. Can I? The Toshiba dev site that hosted the setup software is no longer operational (for obvious reasons)
2. I noticed my card is W-02 and everyone is talking about W-03 and above - so, is this card useless?
3. Does FlashPap work still?

Any info would be great

thanks, Dafod

FlashPAP is still a viable software app.  You don't need anything special for setting up the FlashAir.  Any text editor can create the CONFIG file, in the SD_WLAN directory, that controls the communication configuration.  Setting a static IP is the best method for repeatable communication.  To test the W-02, create the CONFIG file on the card.  Eject it from your computer and reinsert it.  This is because the FlashAir only will initialize at bootup.  Using your web browser, enter the FlashAir's IP in the URL address box.  If it connected to your Wi-Fi network, the FlashAir's directory will show up as a web page.

Great. Thanks! Got it connected. Now to setup flashPAP

So I realised I had never used Flashpap but SleepMaster.

Is there any reason why not to use Sleep Master? (other than no future development)

If I remember correctly it could be setup to do that transfer itself although I might be off on my memory.

thanks, Dafod

The developer of SleepMaster passed away some time ago, but you can still use it. I just had better luck with FlashPAP. I automated mine on a Windows platform placing the Java command line in a batch (.bat) file. This file can be registered in the Task Scheduler to run at a certain time each day. For Mac and Linux, I created a text file with the Java execution script, made it an executable file, and then added it as a cron job.

Thanks Crimson,
great stuff - I have it going now. I did let my ambition run away from me for a minute there. I read about mounting the card on the network but decided its working now, and what not broke...................

thanks again for all your time in answering my questions.
