Finally got my replacement cpap, what do I need to know - ruthcatrin - 02-02-2023

Been a while since I logged in here, sorry.  I had a Philips Dreamstation, which was on the recalled list, and they have FINALLY got me my replacement machine, which is a Philips Dreamstation 2 Auto CPAP Advanced.  I have sent off the email for my copy of the clinicians manual so I can adjust things as needed, but the timing is actually working out since I just had surgery on my nose and probably won't be able to wear the mask for a few days anyway.  I'm delighted to see that this machine is on the list of ones that works with Oscar, so thats good at least.  I'm frustrated that my stash of spare filters is now junk, but that is what it is.

I understand the basic concept of how the auto cpaps work vs the type I had before.  But this machine is WAY fancier than my old one.  Is it worth dealing with the bluetooth app to handle the controls?  What do I need to know about how this one works vs my old one as I figure out how to make the changes needed?

Hey there.....

These Youtube videos may help you get started with the settings in the menus. If you know your settings from the previous CPAP you should be able to get them into the DS2 with not too much problem. If your previous machine was the DS1, you may find the DS2 is simpler and has less menu items.

Clinicians/providers menu...... (pay particular attention on entering this mode with the button push and screen swipe)

The Bluetooth connection is primarily for data transfer into the DreamMapper app on your smart device, not for control of the DS2

Ah, well then I won't bother with the app.  Thanks for the videos, those'll come in handy!
