What used machine should I buy? - thereforeiwi - 03-18-2023 Hello, I was recently diagnosed with mild to moderate sleep apnea via an at home test through Lofta. My results are: Obstructive Sleep Apnea (G47.33) - Mild to Moderate based on pAHI=10.8, pRDI=24.2 and O2 nadir of 81%. Not interested going through insurance hassle, as I have a high deductible plan. I am looking at purchasing a used machine, trying to stay under $500. Here is what I am finding on FB marketplace. Resmed Curve 10 ASV Bilevel Remed Airsense 11 autoset Would really appreciate any advice you can offer on what purchase would make the most sense based on my test results. Thank you. RE: What used machine should I buy? - OpalRose - 03-18-2023 Unless you were diagnosed with Central Sleep Apnea, the ASV would not be appropriate for you. I would look for an Airsense 10 or 11 Autoset. If you have a copy of your sleep study, post it here. This way you can receive more targeted advice. Things to consider: Do you know how many hours are on the A11? Not just user hours, but also machine/blower hours. Was this machine used in a dust free, smoke free and animal free environment? Thanks OpalRose. I appreciate your response, I dis not considering some of these things. I did include the readings from my sleep study in my post - is there any additional information that would be helpful? RE: What used machine should I buy? - OpalRose - 03-18-2023 What was the breakdown of the AHI.... Obstructives, hypopnea, Reras, clear airway events? Note that most all sleep studies give a diagnosis of "Obstructive Sleep Apnea (G47.33)" How long (minutes) were your O2 levels at 81%? RE: What used machine should I buy? - thereforeiwi - 03-18-2023 Opal - I just messaged you a link to my sleep study. Unfortunately, there was no breakdown of the AHI, but it did include a breakdown of O2 levels. RE: What used machine should I buy? - OpalRose - 03-18-2023 With your diagnosis of mild SA, you should do well with an AirSense 10 or 11. It may be hard to find one in your price range, but sometimes they're out there. Just be wary of some of the things I posted above. A private seller should have no issue with taking a photo of the screen to show you the blower hours. RE: What used machine should I buy? - thereforeiwi - 03-18-2023 Thank you!
