2 years of CPAP - Victormarseille92 - 04-10-2023

Hello everyone, I have been using CPAP for two years, but I still feel tired during the day, with an irresistible need to nap on the weekend. Doctor has prescribed me Modafinil, but does not seem to be very useful. A friend has told me about OSCAR, so I have downloaded it and here are my results. Do you think my CPAP works well ? My doctor did not find any problem ...

Welcome

You have come to the right place.  Unfortunately, I am unable to help you because I do not have the knowledge to do so.  But others do, and I'm sure they will be along soon.

My one question is, what did you mean by your doctor doesn't think there is a problem?  Your OSCAR chart, to my untrained eye looks like it reflects work to be done.

Best wishes!

Hi VictorMarseille92,
The main issue I see are the "clumps" of Obstructives.  When we see "clumps" of Apnea, it tells us that you are sleeping in a way that is cutting off your air supply.
You are tucking your chin to your chest.

Think about how you sleep.  There is nothing wrong with sleeping on your back as long as your head and neck are supported correctly.   What type of pillow(s) are you using?
If more than one or they are too tall, the pillow will allow your head to tilt forward into your chest.  This is what we call "chin tucking", like kinking a hose.  Your are cutting off your air and the result are the "clumps of Apnea" we see on your chart.

Try using (1) one thinner, soft but firm pillow.  Also try sleeping on your side more, but be cautious as chin tucking can still occur.

Be aware of your sleep position, but if you're unable to overcome or correct this, you may want to try a "soft" cervical collar.  Many here use this as it helps to keep your neck aligned. Read these articles for better understanding:

I don't see a need to adjust your pressure right now, except maybe try a CFlex setting of 1.  This may help with Hypopnea and Reras.

If you need a Clinicians manual, order it here:

Victor,

Welcome et bienvenue!

Just two points.

If you want to change the language in English, which may give better visibility to members go to "Aide, Changer de Langue."(top line left corner). You can go back to French after, no data is ever lost.

If you wish, it would useful  to see your Polysomnographie, or Polygraphie Ventilatoire,  Just hide your personal details. It will give us good background information.

We usually like graphs in a standard format to give the clearest picture possible.

1.Event Flags
2.Flow Rate
3.Pressure
4.Leak Rate
5.Flow Limit

I cannot add a pdf file, do you know how to do it?

RE: 2 years of CPAP - Crimson Nape - 04-12-2023

You don't use a PDF.

To acquire OSCAR images:
**1. Set display to the Standard view.
****(View > Reset Graphs > Standard)
**2. Take a screenshot
***** Windows or Linux: F12 key
***** Mac: Fn+F12 keys

See this link to insert an image into a post.

Brand new members are limited as to what kind of attachments they can upload. This is a spam prevention feature of the forum software.

New members are restricted to image files only (screenshots; bmp, gif, jpg etc).

Once you've made 4 posts and a few hours go by, you'll automatically transition from the New Members group into the regular Members group, at which time you can upload other file types such as PDFs, etc.

So suggest you scan document, save as screenshots; bmp, gif, jpg etc, then attach and send.
