BiPap issues - sjsmith - 04-10-2023 Hello, Looking for some help here. Please and thank You. I have been using BiPap for 15 years or so. My settings were 24/20 with Bi-flex of 3 on my aircurve 8. Thought I was was doing pretty goo, but still tired all the time. I don;t know results of night sleep events or air leaks from that machine. I never had to use humidity or go gassy from those setting on that machine. In September I had a new sleep study and got a new Aircurve 10 VAuto and setting were adjusted to 20/14 PS of 6. Since then I have to use humidity and use a full reservoir every night. Most nights have 30L of air leaks. I am waking up throughout the night bloated belching and farting. I have tried going down in pressures but it does not control events then. what setting can I use to go back to my old setting on this new machine and see if those will work. I am ready to throw the machine away and forget it. RE: BiPap issues - Sleeprider - 04-10-2023 It would be most helpful to you and to us if you will download and install the free OSCAR program and post some screenshots of your daily detailed data. This can provide comprehensive information on your settings as well as respiratory statistics and therapy results. Oscar is here https://www.sleepfiles.com/OSCAR Follow the links in my signature to tutorials on organizing your Oscar Data and Attaching Files to your Post. I would be very surprised if we can't help you to find much more comfortable settings. Based on what you have posted here, your previous S8 VPAP was set to fixed pressure at 24/20. The Aircurve 8 and all Resmed machines do not have BiFlex which is a Philips algorithm for pressure transitions. The Resmed machines today have EasyBreathe which can be deactivated on the VPAP-S mode. You may have been using some sort of square-wave pressure transition between EPAP and IPAP. Anyway, you may want to try setting your machine to the following: Mode VPAP S Mode IPAP 24 EPAP 20 This will give a fixed pressure mode with PS 4 that closely matches your previous settings. RE: BiPap issues - sjsmith - 04-10-2023 I will try to get that downloaded. Thank you. Attached is a copy of my usage report. RE: BiPap issues - Sleeprider - 04-10-2023 With Oscar, we will be able to see the types of events, any patterns, and how they evolve. Trust me on this; we have the best shot to solve your problems with the detailed data because it gives us so much more to work from. RE: BiPap issues - sjsmith - 04-11-2023 I looked at my old machine last night it isĀ and S9 not an aircurve 8. I tried the other setting last night and got almost no sleep again. I talk with my Dr. Today and I am going to go in and have a titration sleep study and then see a pulmonologist. I will keep you updated with results. I will also get oscar downloaded and post my current info. Thank you. RE: BiPap issues - Gideon - 04-11-2023 Try using the mask and hose, at least the mask from your S9. At least as a trial RE: BiPap issues - sjsmith - 04-11-2023 I am using the same dreamwear head gear and nasal cushion. The hose is different because it has a different connection to the new machine. I am a stomach sleeper, but may have to go to a full face mask. I just don't understand the troubles I am having now and never had them for the 1st 10 years I used it. RE: BiPap issues - sjsmith - 04-13-2023 Haywoof thanks for the comment. Yes I am experiencing discomfort with the new machine. It is more bloating and gassy than increased humidity, even though my pressures were decreased. Point was I just never had to use humidity before. As you can see in my comments above I have set up another titration study and then will be seeing a pulmonologist. |
