SleepHQ - srlevine1 - 05-13-2023 Just looked at the SleepHQ site in Australia and the graphs look familiar. Is this a venture of the previous developer? Will the Oscar be translated to the cloud to deal with updates and fixes? Steve RE: SleepHQ - Gideon - 05-13-2023 No, but the similarities are remarkable. RE: SleepHQ - SuperSleeper - 05-13-2023 Still no reply about that from Adam, here: https://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-Sleep-HQ-selling-my-personal-information The silence is deafening. RE: SleepHQ - sptrout - 05-19-2023 I have been using SleepHQ and OSCAR for several weeks/months (OSCAR & Sleepyhead for years). Both work great and both have advantages and disadvantages. OSCAR resides on a PC which is okay with me, but could be a problem for others. OSCAR Statistics Page is the main reason that I am sticking with it along with SleepHQ, which does not have anything like it. The best SHQ can do now is a single or multiple independent month pdf reports. I, and others, have recently asked SleepHQ to look into writing code to add a Statistics Page. Do not know when, if ever, that will happen. Their code writer is very busy writing new code; just completing a new Magic Uploaded version that has fixed several problems that I never had. Works great to have a nights XPAP data loaded into their system automatically and ready for review in minutes. SleepHQ for anyone not familiar with it is 100% web based and is compatible with Windows, Apple, and Android (did I forget one? I only use W10 & Android). They are Apple folks so they can a drag a little getting to Android, but everything that I want works fine on my PC, phone, or tablet. Importing O2 data is separate but very easy. When opening a person's "Dashboard" you will see several graphs. Although XPAP machines generate a bunch of graphs a user can optionally set which graphs are shown on the main page (hiding the rest unless requested). I show about 5 XPAP graphs and O2 data right below XPAP graphs that are related. Very handy. Mix and match as wanted. Very easy for a user that has a question(s) about their therapy to instantly create a link to their XPAP results/graphs with personal identification items removed. No copy and paste, just an instant link that a person can add to their question. Makes it very helpful for anyone that is trying to response to see exactly what the person is asking about. One last feature that I will mention is that the SleepHQ developers use YouTube for training, reviews, and other information. I have found their YouTube content very helpful. SleepHQ also has a very busy and large Community Forum Section (multiple forums actually). Since SHQ has users from all over the world, some of the questions are kind of funny since the person must ask questions in English (obviously not their first language). Whatever the question the responses from again all over the world are respective and probing if necessary. I have not seen a single negative or nasty comment yet. Bottomline: If you want a web based system that is compatible will all your smart devices then you should look at SleepHQ. A very good and growing system. OSCAR is a great PC based program that keeps everything local and at zero costs (SleepHQ has a free version with limited capabilities). I use both and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. RE: SleepHQ - SuperSleeper - 05-19-2023 Nice ad for SleepHQ. I think you must have forgotten to mention that their code was developed by the OSCAR team. RE: SleepHQ - srlevine1 - 05-19-2023 (05-19-2023, 09:21 PM)SuperSleeper Wrote: Nice ad for SleepHQ. If OSCAR is open source under any open source license, shouldn't SleepHQ make their derivative source code plus enhancements available to anyone that asks? And, doesn't the statement "Portions of OSCAR are © 2019-2022 by The OSCAR Team" contrary to Open Source provisions? " RE: SleepHQ - kappa - 05-20-2023 (05-19-2023, 11:16 PM)srlevine1 Wrote: Question! OSCAR (and SleepyHead before it) are released under the GNU GPLv3 license. Read about the SaaS loophole in the license here. One possibility would be to change the license under which future OSCAR releases use to something like the GNU AGPL license, but not sure what the process might be to do that. Copyright and Open Source licensing are not incompatible. Per the GPL license itself developers have to assert copyright ownership of the code in order to apply the license conditions. RE: SleepHQ - srlevine1 - 05-20-2023 Thank you Kappa. RE: SleepHQ - sptrout - 05-20-2023 (05-19-2023, 09:21 PM)SuperSleeper Wrote: Nice ad for SleepHQ. I think you must have forgotten to mention that their code was developed by the OSCAR team. No ads from me, just trying to point out some differences between the two. Like I said I use both because both have their advantages and disadvantages. I went light on OSCAR since I assumed that most readers of this Board are very familiar with it so I concentrated on SleepHQ. For example of why I still use both. Monday 5/22 I get to see my sleep doctor and all that I take with me is the Statistics Page from OSCAR. This one page (mine is actually two because of all the different machines that I have used with many setting changes) is a gold mine of information. The sleep doc quickly reviews the data, checks if I am still breathing (I think that he has to do something for his money) then all done and I head home. SleepHQ does not have this capability as of now and likely will not for sometime, if ever. Also, SleepHQ is really designed to only work seamlessly with one machine not able to combine the results of multiple machines into one report. (Or if SHQ does this it is not apparent to me.) This is especially true of their new Magic Loader which is programmed to work with only one machine. Multiple machines required their own Magic Uploader which is a big disadvantage for me since I have 3 identical ResMed AutoSense Machines (did have 5 until a couple weeks ago) that I switch out to keep the hours of usage under control. Therefore, I will now only use one machine until it dies. If SLeepHQ code is based on OSCAR I guess that we should soon see a web based version that is compatible with any Smart device. I will not hold my breath. Naturally, they display many similar things they both get their data from the same place; the SD card of a XPAP machine. How many ways can software display the same information and not have similar results? Although I was an engineer all my working life I never had to learn coding so I cannot say that the two programs are similar or not. I just know that the results are very different in many ways. In the meantime I will print my OSCAR Statistics Page and head to the sleep doc in couple days. Very glad to be able to use OSCAR that saves me a lot of doctor time. I was just taking a jab at the SleepHQ, not you personally. I'm obviously biased towards OSCAR. |
