Weird respiratory rate spikes in oscar - caydence - 06-17-2023

[Hello I'm a new user using a resmed airsense11 with autopap 6-16 and the airfitn30i mask. I am trying to understand some things about my data. Most nights I get what appears to be normal breathing interrupted by spikes in respiratory rate every 9-10 minutes for a few hours each night.

I'm not concerned about my therapy my AHI is very low and my leaks aren't overly concerning as I'm still working on proper fit.
However, I'm curious if anyone can help me figure out what these spikes are.

Thank you! I've attached screen shots from last nights data. I've seen this pattern several times since I started therapy about a month ago.

It looks like you're off to a great start!

I think what we're seeing are sighs. They're associated with little snores, though I can't tell exactly what precedes what.

Sighing during sleep is common. I just took a look at my chart for last night, and I can see a fair number of sighs that look like yours.

So, don't worry at all about those little spikes.

On the subject of spikes: over time, I've seen some other spikes, including hiccups (upward vertical lines) and coughs (downward vertical lines). The hiccups in particular are pretty funny!
