Feature Request - OSCAR Linux - rammjet - 07-09-2023 Note: I tried creating a Gitlab account and an error kept popping up. I tried to see whether I had an old login and the same error popped up. So, I am posting here. I am thinking about migrating from Windows to Linux and I am trying out various apps that I would want to use. I am unable to do the following 2 items in OSCAR Linux that I can accomplish in Windows. It is likely being handled by some features of Windows OS, but maybe they could be added to OSCAR. 1. Allow printing to PDF be set as default. Right now, every time I print, I have to select PDF instead of my real printer. 2. Remember the last directory that the PDF was saved. Right now, OSCAR tries to save to the same directory as the OSCAR data files and I save my printed reports to a different directory. I have to select the correct directory for each print. Thank you. RE: Feature Request - OSCAR Linux - rammjet - 07-09-2023 I was thinking. There doesn't need to be a default printer. Just remember the last printer selected. And remember the last directory the file was saved. Typical Linux place to save such info is some directory like: /home/(user)/.oscar RE: Feature Request - OSCAR Linux - pholynyk - 07-09-2023 The problem with both those requests is that they are functions of the associated libraries; the printer and the file selector respectively. I don't know that there is much we can do with them. RE: Feature Request - OSCAR Linux - rammjet - 07-09-2023 OK, thanks for looking at it. BTW, I did finally get into Gitlab, so you'll find the same thing in issues. |
