OSCAR for Apple silicon M2 - HappySailor - 09-15-2023 Hello OSCAR guru's, When trying to install OSCAR 1.5, I get a notice that I need to install Rosetta because OSCAR is made for Intel processors. Of course I can do that, but is there (going to be) a version that will run native on Apple Silicon? Thanks, Charan RE: OSCAR for Apple silicon M2 - pholynyk - 09-15-2023 The difficulty we face is finding a user who is or can become a developer.. They have to have the Apple M2 computer, and obtain Apples Developer package. Then you have to Download the required QT packages, which may require building them from source - not a small project. Then you can start on OSCAR, a less daunting project. Once it compiles and links, you have to figure out the packaging requirements, to build a package that others can download and install. And that's why we don't have a native M2 OSCAR download. RE: OSCAR for Apple silicon M2 - wallybru - 09-17-2023 Apple iOS uses “aps”. There are thousands of these possible on the homepage. RE: OSCAR for Apple silicon M2 - ejbpesca - 09-20-2023 Happy Sailor, I have a MacBook M2. Has the Mac OSCAR APP download functioned on your M2? Going okay? I have an M2 Ultra Mac Studio. Thhe first time I tried to install Oscar 1.5, I got a similar notice about being unable to install. I tried again the next day, not doing anything different, and it worked fine. Go figure... |
