Quit Nicotine and AHI and CA are worse - ApneaND - 09-23-2023

I quit nicotine on Aug 3rd and was exhausted tired the first month, but having trouble getting quality sleep/irritable the last 20 days or so, with the last week being quite bad.

I noticed that even though I am getting 6-7 hours sleep a night, my watch is showing very poor sleep in terms of # of cycles and wakefulness, so I pulled my cpap stats.

It is clear there is a big difference the first few days of the quit but even after that I am still 5x-6x on AHI and most of it has been clear airway. In the past it was a mix of apnea, hyponena, CA, etc.

What I am trying to figure out is if this is just a normal part of the quitting process, or if now that I don't have a stimulant in my brain 24/7, I actually need to make some adjustments.

I brought this up with my PCP and I'm going to be talking to the sleep center physician but I'd appreciate any feedback from anyone who has experienced this.
