Skin treatment for mouth taping? - GaspForAir - 09-25-2023

I've been using 3M micropore tape for mouth taping and it works pretty well and also it's cheap. However I am getting some skin irritation with it. Has anyone tried to use some kind of a skin ointment to help prevent the skin from damage when using mouth tape? Is there anything you could recommend?

@GaspForAir

I use Cover-Roll stretch tape and press it directly to my lips and face, remove very slowly. Never had any skin irritation with it, just some chafing from accidentally removing it too quickly a couple of times. Doesn't take many times to get the slow part down pat.

Cavilon Durable Barrier Cream... just a dab spread over the area where the tape will be has worked for me.
If the irritation is/may be related to removing the tape, be sure to pull the tape off across your face, not away from your face (ie - left to right close to your skin rather than pulling it out).
