struggling w/ cpap and need help. - dystonic - 10-28-2023 hi folks. I'm still struggling to get a full nights' sleep. I just switched to the hybrid half face philips respronics? mask, i dno't recall w hat model. i'm using a resmed airsense 11. here's my data. if you could please take a look and let me know if you see where I can make it work better I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks very much Sarah RE: struggling w/ cpap and need help. - Deborah K. - 10-28-2023 For a start, most adults would find your minimum pressure too low and would feel air-starved. I suggest that you increase that low-pressure setting to 7. I think you would feel better. On your information on the left, you list that your pap machine is a ResMed Aircurve 10, then in your post you say that you are using a ResMed AirSense 11. On your Oscar report it says you are using a ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset. I'm guessing the Oscar report is probably correct. You might want to fix that. It's a minor thing, but you don't want to confuse folks who are trying to help. Often when I see that someone is using a bi-level machine I hesitate to try to help because I don't understand bi-levels well enough. RE: struggling w/ cpap and need help. - dystonic - 10-28-2023 thank you so much Deborah it's a airsense 10. i'm turning up the pressure to 7 now. i corrected my profile so it's accurate RE: struggling w/ cpap and need help. - PeaceLoveAndPizza - 10-28-2023 As Deborah K. said, setting a min of 7 or 8 based on your median is logical. Consider also a max of 15 and EPR of 2 or 3 full-time, which should clear up a lot of your flow limits and let lower pressure do its job. Your flow limits are what is driving up the pressure, which coupled with the arousals are what is likely disturbing your sleep. There could be more factors involved, but these suggestions seem a good place to start. Do you have ramp on? If so turn it off as it is not providing therapy during that window. You also have a big leak at the end. Any idea if it was a mouth leak? If it happens often consider a soft cervical collar as it is occurring for 10% of your sleep time in this chart. Overall you are doing a bang-up job! RE: struggling w/ cpap and need help. - dystonic - 10-28-2023 Hihi! I turned off ramp and made the otehr changes that you and Deborah K suggested. I don't know if the leak at the end is me just throwing the mask on the floor when I was done with it and not turning off the machine. would it do that? I'll try the collar thing today it can't hurt. thank you both! |
