Reset motor run hours after new motor - djforrestidaho - 12-05-2023 I have just replaced the motor in my AirSense 10 after 29,641 hours, but my total run hours did not reset and I am still getting the life extended message. Does anyone know how to reset all that? Thanks in advance. RE: Reset motor run hours after new motor - PeaceLoveAndPizza - 12-05-2023 Simply put, you cannot do it. I asked ResMed about this and was told only ResMed or an authorized repair shop has the necessary software to do so. I explained I repaired units to donate and was told I did not qualify. It is actually a good thing as if it was generally available anyone could reset the hours so one would ever never know if they were buying a new or used machine. RE: Reset motor run hours after new motor - djforrestidaho - 12-05-2023 Thanks for the reply. Makes sense. RE: Reset motor run hours after new motor - srlevine1 - 12-06-2023 There is another solution. Present your device to an authorized repair center for certification along with the receipt for the new motor, and some companies will reset the motor hours for a small charge, usually between $30 and $60. Essentially, they use the ResMed software to check all of the operational parameters, which is an added check on the device's viability. RE: Reset motor run hours after new motor - djforrestidaho - 12-06-2023 Thanks for the suggestion. I appreciate it. RE: Reset motor run hours after new motor - Sleeprider - 12-06-2023 Supplier #28 reportedly does motor replacements with equipment check and run-hours reset for about $200. Worth checking into rather than DIY. RE: Reset motor run hours after new motor - djforrestidaho - 12-06-2023 RE: Reset motor run hours after new motor - PeaceLoveAndPizza - 12-06-2023 I have replaced quite a few motors and with the YouTube videos as I am not very handy (and no longer trusted with power tools for a very good reason). It is an easy thing to do. When I donate them I let the various groups know they have a new motor and the hours have not been reset. At almost 30K hours, it should be good for years. It depends on how much it bothers you to have the message pop-up as to whether you need to spend the money to get the hours reset and get rid of the nag screen. RE: Reset motor run hours after new motor - djforrestidaho - 12-06-2023 The nag screen is no big deal, thanks. The price was reasonable, service was prompt. My enthusiastic endorsement. |
