BMC G2S A20/Luna II OSCAR support - HarryDuBois - 12-28-2023

Hello. I've seen a number of old threads regarding lack of OSCAR support for the BMC G2S A20/Luna II device, but all of them seems to lead nowhere.
Is there a problem with lack of usable data from the device that needs to be provided, or it is more of a need to find the volunteer with the device in posession who also have some coding skills to poke around the sd card data? Thanks

Hi HarryDuBois!  -  Welcome
It is because there has not been a volunteer with the machine and programming skills to write the loader code.

Thanks for the fast reply! I initially thought just the device and files from it is all thats needed, and the team behind OSCAR would take care of the rest. Makes sense to have someone with skills to implement it though. Seems its not happening then, sadly.

To be clear, OSCAR has nothing against adding these, or other, devices. It does take a developer to write the loader. We are always looking dor developers.

RE: BMC G2S A20/Luna II OSCAR support - SuperSleeper - 12-31-2023

We do have some older BMC software packages, (RESmart and PAP LINK) available here:
https://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-BMC-3B-RESmart-Software-for-Windows-Only-other-software

But I have no idea whether that software will work with the newer machines.

Also on that page is a link to BMC's iCodeConnect web-based software, which may work for you.

The software at the links above works with the newer g3 machine and is fairly comprehensive but being able to use OSCAR would clearly be beneficial.

I'm not a programmer but I have had a go at trying to decipher the formatting of the data from the SD card. I'm making slow progress although I have had some success in isolating a flow signal.....is there a guide as to the format that OSCAR expects data in? This would potentially be useful to compare the data formatting especially if the method of extracting other supported data is known.

Hi! My medical provider got me a BMC G2S A20 and I have programming skills to help. How can I help to add this new machine? is the discord chat still open for invite?

Thanks!

RE: BMC G2S A20/Luna II OSCAR support - Crimson Nape - 01-17-2024

Hi ronfario! - Welcome

OSCAR does not use Discord. That was used for the now defunct SleepyHead project, which ended in 2018. We are always looking for qualified talent. If you would, please send a PM to Gideon (OSCAR Project Manager), outlining your experience, areas of expertise and interest for the project.

To help you get a head start, here is the link for the OSCAR source code: https://gitlab.com/pholy/OSCAR-code
Code documentation is basically nonexistent, and you will need to look through the code to obtain an understanding (if that is actually possible) of its structure, flow, and naming conventions.

We are using Qt version 5.15.2 for development.

If you would like to review the Spanish translation too, you are very welcome to do so: we don't have contact with the original translator anymore.
Please send me a PM if you're interested, I can tell you that going through all the strings by translating OSCAR gives unprecedented insight into the program... Smile
